Director of Player Development Job Description
Responsible for fostering an environment that promotes well being and life skill development of women's basketball student-athletes. Coordinate team video operations including exchange, editing, web site upgrades, and special projects. Assist in film analysis and use of video for purposes of player development. Manage social and viral media for the women's basketball program. Assist with coordination of on-campus recruiting activities, producing recruitment materials, organizing community outreach activities, and coordinating workouts and practices. Serve as team liaison to academic services, equipment room, marketing, strength and conditioning, and other support areas. Establish and maintain effective interactions with students, faculty, staff, administrators, alumni and the public.

The job desription sounds a lot of what I thought Josh Carper did. Has he been fired or did he leave?

The money to pay for this position doesn't come from the general fund of the university, it comes from the athletics department. The athletics department money is separate from the general fund.

Maybe it is similar to hiring Jeff Grayer, maybe they will hire a former great player.
