It will be interesting to see if the Big 12 will top the million mark in attendance with only 10 teams. Colorado's numbers were not impressive, but Nebraska was in the top 10 nationally.

Having 9 home conference games instead of 8 could help a little since attendance is generally higher at conference games.

Only for one season. Nobody and I mean nobody in Lincoln went to those games until about midway through last season. Winning does amazing things to people, especially bugeater fans. 3-4 years ago baseball was still winning and Haymarket Park was the place to be, now you can't give husker baseball tickets away.

    Nebraska Women's Basketball Attendance
    2008-09 ... 3,211 (10th in the Big 12)
    2009-10 ... 7,390 (3rd in Big 12, 7th in the nation)

    Nebraska Baseball Attendance
    2006 ... 5,092
    2010 ... 1,224

This season will have an afterglow effect on attendance. Nebraska sold additional season tickets for next season during the NCAA tournament. After this next season, they won't be our concern any longer. But, I agree attendance will decline with wins. There is an outside chance that they can convert this year's success into some good recruits to go along with their young point guard. Emily Cady e.g. Regardless, they will not surpass the Sisters.

ps I didn't know baseball attendance suffered so much. That is one sport which will definitely benefit from their flight to the Big10/11/12. The Big 12 south is just too strong for them.
