If you have a better wrestler at another weight why not count him instead since you can at this tourney. Unfortunately those "better wrestlers" didn't get the job done (in the champ bracket at least).

Keep in mind that at Midlands you just name 10 guys that score points for you... so we could have 5 guys at 125 but have none of them scoring points for us if the coaches felt we had better chances of placing elsewhere. I am pretty sure that Cash is only one of the ten because of the late Weatherman withdrawl.

I know this, but really Cash? I'd rather have had all 3 HWTs scoring over him. However, I have a heavy wrestler bias against most of the lights this year.

Who knows, the coaches must have thought he had a better chance.

On another note, Drouin is going to get his shot at avenging his loss to Ballweg at the dual in the quarters at 141. Should be a good match. I feel pretty confident that he'll be able to win this one without Ballweg getting the edge that comes with a match in Carver.

Drouin got his revenge. Scored a takedown with 1 second left to take it to overtime and then got another takedown to win it 5-3 against Ballwag in OT.

Shaffer pins the 8 seed. We are fifth in team standings, Iowa third. Considering who isn't wrestling for us, we're having a hell of a tourney.

Simonson and Gibson win consolation matches. 7-1 so far on the night with only Carr Jr. losing. One more round of consolations to go. We have 3 on the championship side and 4 on the consolation. Shaffer, Simonson, and Gibson wrestle one more match tonight. Moreno is also still on the consolation side wrestling unattached.
