Sounds like we had fourth place quite a bit today.

Lots of 4th places by guys who were seeded 5th though. Everyone but Drioun and Spangler wrestled at or above their seed. And I don't know why Spangler got the 4 seed over a guy who was top 20. That's why I think he has a shot at getting a wildcard even with a limited number of matches, the coaches recognize that he would be a starter for most schools.

Reader was named Outstanding Wrestler. Which is really cool since Oliver, Burroughs and Reader have all had undefeated, dominating seasons up to this point, so that was not a foregone conclusion.

With Sorenson out placing in the top 10 in Philly is out of the question, but I think that Reader will score a lot of points, plus a solid contribution from Ward and a win or two from Simonson (and maybe Shafer) we'll still at least be top 20. Missing those points from our second best wrestler in Sorenson is going to hurt badly though.

I was thinking Oliver might get this but I think Reader had better competition. I would like to see that first takedown Oliver had in the finals again. I'm not exactly sure what it was he did but it was pretty cool.

Was Burroughs sick or something? If he wrestled like that all year it is a miracle he is undefeated. I don't know how he got through that final with only 1 stall warning. If Simonson's semifinal match was called like that he would have gone to overtime with that Missouri kid instead of losing on a stall penalty.
