I'm not privy to any insider information or anything, but I'm going to go out on a limb and say a guy with a win over the NCAA runner up and several other qualifiers is probably beating a guy going .500 in open tournaments.

The only weights I'm pretty certain of are
125 - Finch - 100% certain
165 - Sorenson - 90% certain
174 - Spangler - 70% certain
197 - Gadsen - 70% certain (only reason not 100% is because of Ward)
Hwt - Simonson 70% certain - 100% if he stays out and I think he will
I hear Spangler wins vs Sorenson in the wrestling room and will be at 165 if he continues to beat him next year. Either one will be an AA if they can stay healthy.
Ward looked pretty ripped to me at 197. How about just letting him go big and wrestling 285?
It's an interesting thought. There are rumors out there that Simonson has been accepted to Vet School and will not be with the team next year. If Ward could bulk up to a healthy 225, his quickness could be problematic for bigger hwts. His offensive "pace" is probably better suited for hwt.
I'm about 60 miles south and east of Algona.
I like Simonson's work ethic and think he could be an AA if he chooses to come back. That said, with the back problems and now the knee, I could see him being ready to move on to vet school and focusing on academics. The lifestyle these guys have to lead is unbelievable and I wouldn't blame him a bit if he feels that's what's best for him.
Do we know what's up with the knee? I know he hurt it in his last match, but didn't know if he just tweatked it or if he tore something.
Ironically, I am from Humboldt--Algona's arch rival. My Dad grew up in Algona.
Humboldt High School class of 1980. Played Football, BBall and Track. Now live in Houston. You?
