Buf87, what do you read into Iowa's multiple signings over the last couple days? Looks like ISU wasn't really in on any of the kids that signed with Iowa, but I never like to see highly rated recruits head to that side of the state.

Not sure. I think Dakota Bauer matches up with Topher Carton for quality and John Meeks matches up with Cory Clark for quality. Sam Brooks fills a big hole for the future at 197 for Iowa and Tom Gilman is a huge get. 133 (Clark), 141(Gilman), and 197 (Brooks) are going to fill those weights for the future for Iowa. I hear they have a good chance at Zach Witte who would compare to Gabe Moreno (which scares me because he hasn't signed with us). They also are in the running for Nate Skoniezcny who is ranked about #2 at 149.
I hope we have some big things going on with Tyler Caldwell and/or Destin McCauley which would not happen until later. Other recruits that Iowa State had visit and not committed are Alex Meyer, Jack Hathaway and Kyle Larson. Alex would probably be the highest ranked.

I hope something is going on with Caldwell and McCauley or there are blue chip recruits we haven't heard about.

From my perspective, looking at last years class, Tanner Weatherman is the only one I see that may fill a void and have success before his junior year. Terukina might wrestle as a true freshman, but I don't expect alot of success. In this years class, Meeks is one that can have success as a redshirt freshman, similiar to what I expect out of Finch this year. We do have 39 on the roster this year, which is great. Now we need to recruits kids that can have success as a redshirt freshman or sophomore not a junior or senior. Caldwell, McCauley, Gabe Moreno fit that bill.

So does that mean Ward is at 197? He's listed at 184 on the roster. Maybe he doesn't have his weight down yet, because even if Jackson thought Beard or Shafer would be the starter I can't see him not giving Ward the courtesy of a wrestle-off.

Boaz showed up at the Iowa - Iowa State tailgate with high school classmate Tyler Caldwell (2011 Nat'l runnerup at Oklahoma) wanting back on the team. He is trying to get Tyler to transfer to Iowa State also.
