Wrestling Confronts The "Finger Up The ***" Menace
Woa there dude. Don't go lumping me into this sodomy crap. In no way did people getting into towel snapping lead to anal rape. Personally I didn't do any of that crap and was on the receiving end of it as an underclassman. I don't see any thing wrong with the harmless stuff, but these a holes need to spend time in cook county jail and learn what sodomy is all about.

I AM blaming the parties involved! I was taking issue with the fact that stuff like "taping freshmen to the goal post" is NOT HARMLESS. Seniors need to lead by example. They need to hold the Freshmen accountable in putting forth their best effort - but doing it in a way that will not demoralize them. The best teams have senior leaders that take underclassmen under their wings and help them to be the best they can be!
The school started wrestling again last week. The funny thing is the school didn't release the names of the victims or the assailants to the public. But they didn't get to wrestle when things started back up so KCRG reported who didn't wrestle. So now the public knows who did it.
I don't disagree with this, but I think the point kentkel was trying to make was to even go a step further, and explore the real motivation behind any kind of hazing, whether lighter or hard core.
My personal feeling is that vast majority of it, while done under the guise of discipline, teaching respect, or team building, is simply done to build up the self esteem of the ones doing the hazing, who make themselves feel better by humiliating or physically dominating someone less powerful. As such, it serves no useful purpose.
