Shafer gets (legally) slammed and almost pinned while stunned. I hope that wasn't another concussion...
Did Shaffer just give up the Major with a really lazy single?
Shafer loses 11-3. Iowa State leading the team score 25-11. I hope Shafer doesn't have a concussion.
Gibson down 1-3 with a minute left, needs a takedown to tie it and erase the other guy's riding time.
Gibson loses 1-4. Iowa State wins the dual 25-14.
Took longer than we had hoped, but the team finally gets a dual win!
Great win! and some nice bonus points in there.
Glad for the guys to finally have the winless monkey off their back. Hopefully they can keep the momentum going.

The good: Goettl fought out of a bad spot and ended up with a pin. Hoffer wasn't an elite opponent but it is nice to see Goettl continuing to demonstrate the improvement that he showed at Midlands. With a bit of luck and determination he might be able to qualify for NCAAs. It was also nice to see Sorenson bounce back from Midlands and dominate. Third, it was nice to see Moreno get a dual win, he's been fighting hard but has had a lot of trouble stepping it up to collegiate competition.
The bad: Shafer continues to have trouble at 197 and I still don't think he'll qualify for NCAAs short of getting really lucky at Big 12s. Beard struggles a bit against guys he should be able to destroy. Hopefully that is just the lingering effects of that deep thigh bruise.
The Ugly: Nothing ugly today
My current prediction for NCAA qualifiers: 125, 141 (maybe), 165, 174, 184, HWT
Nice win. Its good to see Luke continue to get better.
Cole is a puzzler to me. He seems to wins or get majored.
this is a dumb question but I don't follow wrestling. How is ISU ranked with a 1-8 record?
I think ISU is using one of the tourney strength polls. It makes sense, because dual W/L records have no bearing on conference championships, NCAA qualifiers, or NCAA championship.
