Congrats John.

Does anyone know what weight John is looking at transistioning to for college? I know that he wrestles 138 now but sometimes kids can bulk up or slim down when they move up to college.

Planning on starting at 133, then moving to 141.

Probably depends some on success Goettl, McCauley have as to how long he stays at 133, if he can!

Thoughts are
125 - Finch
133 - Start season with Cash and Hallman, if no results maybe Meeks as a true frosh
141 - Goettl
149 - Mayfield and possible McCauley
157 - Weatherman/Moreno
165 - Moreno and Molina unless Tyler Caldwell transfers in
174 - Spangler, England, and Ta. Weatherman
184 - Beard and Ta Weatherman
197 - Gadsen, Shafer, and Volker
Hwt - Gibson and Swope

I think we originally weren't thinking (but always hoping) that Goettl would come on this strong this early in career. Has definitely given us more options next year.

How likely is Caldwell? That rumor pops up over and over, but I dont know anyone who knows him.

He spent along time in Ames early in the football season, training with Paulsens & Reader. Also was a high school classmate and good friend of Boaz Beard.

john is looking forward to his intence training for the DD, after the state turn. the coaches and trainers and partners have all been choosen to give him the best chance to win. to the person asking about his college weight, he is a small 138 so he will wrestle at 133 in college
