Interesting comment about his brother Blake in article that I didn't know
Blake recently transferred from Nebraska to Iowa State, where he will join John on the wrestling team next season.

Re: John Meeks
Watching Meeks oun SoundOFF last night, he seems like a very down-to-earth guy who knows the value of hard work and good ethics. Anybody who goes undefeated through their entire high school career is deserving of praise. I hope he has a long and successful future with the Wrestling team. Keepers of the Faith -- Stranger in a Strange Land Keepers of the Faith is an alliance for those who are excited, enthusiastic, and optimistic about the direction of our men's basketball program. We reject the notion that one bad loss can derail the incredible progress of the past three years. To join, put this in your signature. -

Re: John Meeks
Great story. Very glad to welcome aboard John and his brother as Cyclones.

I was curious where he was going to school. -
Re: John Meeks
Great kid.
I almost feel bad that he is going to have all the pressure of being undefeated for another 4 years...

Re: John Meeks
Did ISU give Meeks a full ride or not? Never got an answer to that.

We will never know. That information is not released unless you get it from John's family or KJ. I don't think that is going to happen. Many speculate that is the only way John was ever going to come to Iowa State was on a full ride, I don't believe that.
There are many other sources of financial aid. Scholarships, which I assume John got a couple; and government financial aid, which I don't know what the Meeks financial situation is.
College is expensive, so I'm sure Meeks were after all they could get. I'm glad he's at Iowa State!

Meeks is a beast! I got a chance to watch him some this past week at the State Tourney, and I am very excited to see him in Cardinal and Gold!

Re: John Meeks
This kid is good. But I hope that he does not get thrown into the fire next year. I would rather see him red shirt. I would rather give up another year as a team and see all of the incoming recruits take a year to develop into Division I collegiate wrestlers.
