UNI to the Big 12?

UNI wrestling would like Big 12 consideration | TheGazette

Well just for wrestling at least. Makes sense to me I imagine it will happen unless some other schools start adding wrestling.

Not really sure how I would feel that. Part of me really wants more teams for the Big 12 but not sure UNI is it. Schwab may have them becoming contenders but they would be a little small to be affiliated with big 12 wrestling. I think in the end, they would get tore up in conference play.

They would be just as good as Mizzou was most years. And ISU didn't exactly tear it up in conference last year. No wins is not a good year.

i agree with brett - we need to jerk out the slack and our wrestlers to fight and start winning, besides that i would love to have UNI

The Pac-12 does this. They have three conference teams and three affiliates: Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, Boise State, and CS Bakersfield.

I don't think this is a bad idea. With ISU, OU, OSU, and WV in conference, UNI plus one other school would make the conference tournament eligible as a qualifying event again.

I realize ISU didn't, but they still beat UNI twice this year when we are still rebuilding. So if ISU beat them in there down year, what would an Okie St team do to em?! Wrestling is a lot different than other sports. You keep getting beat week in and week out, the moral gets lost and the team starts to fall apart. ISU was suffering from a little bit this year as well.

Doesnt matter by who. But yes we woulf beat them more times than not. We beat them twice this year and this was a major down year. If they cant beat us in a year we are really down, who would they beat?
