Update on Cyclone Recruiting
Can anyone provide an update on where we are at with recruiting? We have some great momentum from last year and I am wondering where we are at for the current recruiting year?

Re: Update on Cyclone Recruiting
Here is a good article from Nov. 7 on Loren Williams: Tri-Center's Williams to wrestle at Iowa State - SouthwestIowaNews.com: Sports
it is good to see Loren is excited about Iowa State, wrestling, and engineering. I think as a youth he participated in the Golden Eagles wrestling club in Underwood, run by former Lewis Central coach, Keith Massey, who coached Travis and Trent in high school. As I recall Loren was highly ranked as a freshman in Iowa before wrestling a single match, and after losing his first match at state that year, he won the rest to come all the way back and take third. So after winning it as a sophomore and junior, he has only ever lost once at state.
Loren participated in baseball, track, and football in high school I believe, so unlike Travis and Trent and many other wrestlers these days, in high school he didn't participate in national freestyle or Greco tournaments during the summer. He doesn't have the kind of national exposure he would have had he only focused on wrestling.

Re: Update on Cyclone Recruiting
It probably doesn't hurt in recruiting Loren that Tri-Center Science teacher (and head girls' basketball coach) is former Cyclone basketball great, and former teammate and roommate of Coach Fred Hoiberg ......
