Great effort by the wrestlers but Jackson left me very disappointed
Coach has been saying all year that he wants extra effort; winning is not good enough. Then he defaults his last match tonight. I was shocked. I hope he has a VERY good explanation.
We only get to see what, 5 duals all year. Not much to try to develop a following among the fans. So, when we do have a dual, I expect to see 10 matches, unless there is an injury. Is Meeks injured? Does Meeks not need more experience? Is he saving him for Okie State? Evenso, an alternate wrestler was introduced at 33 at the start of the evening, but we still default.
I just don't get it.

I'm confused. Iowa State won 23-18 with the default of 6 points at the end. It's a great win, and we now have a few guys rested for Okie State in 2 days.

This does seem really odd.

Jackson x his arms and the end and the ASU guy had his arm raised..........I don't know why but left me feeling unsatisfied. Morano, Weatherman, Gibson, Ryak all showed up to night. HWT was a good match between 2 ranked guys other wise there was a lot of bad wrestling.

Maybe he was resting Meeks, or he's injured. I see that. But didn't we have someone that could have wrestled up? I thought that was really odd, too. Very abrupt ending.

Before the meet Jackson said Meeks had a slight groin injury and he wanted to rest him. I think he may have gone ahead and wrestled if that match would have mattered though.

If Meeks had red-shirted, who would have wrestled 33? Just seems like a chance to give someone else a match, rather than forfeit. But I guess he's coach and we have to respect he knows what is best for the team.

Options:
(1) Put a tweaked Meeks out there in an already-decided dual
(2) Put Connor Clarke out there, and probably give up 6
(3) Forfeit, and give up 6

Option 4...should have redshirted Meeks.

Too much heat on Jackson's bottom for that to have happened.
