#11 Missouri @ #7 Iowa State 2/17 2 PM
125. #16 Tyler Clark dec. John Olanowski 3-0 ISU
133. #7 Nick Fanthorpe dec. #20 Tyler McCormick 6-0 ISU
141. #14 Nick Gallick dec. Marcus Hoehn 9-0 ISU
149. #15 Josh Wagner dec. Mitch Mueller 9-3 ISU
157. #8 Cyler Sanderson dec. #15 Michael Chandler 12-3 ISU
165. #2 Nick Marable dec. #7 Jon Reader 12-6 ISU
174. Aron Scott dec. Brock Wittmeyer 15-6 ISU
184. #1 Jake Varner dec. #5 Raymon Jordan 18-6 ISU
197. #6 Max Askern mdec. #19 David Bertolino 18-10 ISU
285. #6 David Zabriske dec. #14 Mark Ellis 21-10 ISU
A lot of tossups here. 133 Tyler McCormick is a returning AA who has been out most of the season who will be a very tough match. I like Mueller's chance against Wagner, but I gave that tossup to the bad guys. Varner could be due for a loss as Jordan has given Varner troubles in the past. Reader and Marable will be well worth the price of admission.
I am going to be at State Finals Saturday night in Des Moines and making my way to Ames Sunday afternoon for the dual.

I opened your post and thought those were actual results and that I had screwed up on the schedule and missed the meet!!
This should be an outstanding meet!!

cyclones win 18-15! much closer match than it needed to be - score was 15-9 with two matches to go, but bertolino (who was wrestling well, and in the lead) was victim of a weird defensive pin by askren. Tied at 15, big Z came in, piddled around for two periods, and then put the meet away in the third. #1 Varner beat #5 Jordan (now 21-2). Varner had never beaten Jordan - lost twice two him last year, but after today remains undefeated! Good win for the cyclones!

We just got back from the meet. That had to be the worst officiated meet I have ever witnessed. Missouri was stalling there arse off the whole meet and we would get called for it. We didnt' get takedowns that we should of. Just bad all around.

At least we got the win. Really hoping this team can take the conference championship again this year!

i'm not too sure about the worst - but in terms of managing offense and the lack of stalling calls, i'd be inclined to agree. Matches just went stagnant sometimes, and he wasn't helping to push the action

Don't other teams always accuse us of stalling and wrestling defensively?

And Missouri didn't do crap at all the whole meet I didn't think. I would agree that it was very slow on both sides but he should of mad the calls both ways. Missouri fled the mat 3 times before he even called it. And Cael got a warning for talking to the ref, what the heck was that about.

I agree it was pretty terrible but I also think it was fairly even for both teams. We also received some calls that I am not so sure we should have had. Either way I do not think it really changed the outcome of any of the matches.

1.) As the kid behind me said "Does Missouri run laps backwards to warm-up because that's all they've been doing?"
2.) What was with the "ankle injury timeout" in Reader's match? The trainer for UM didn't even look at the ankle, just handed the kid a water bottle and then sat back down.
3.) Saw the Weatherman boys from Ballard in the lower section directly behind the Cyclones corner. One of their assistant coaches is Nick Britton, former ISU grappler, is currently the ISU Athletic's Director of Event Management. Appears to be a fairly solid connection to Ballard growing there.

Did Askren get a defensive fall? I saw Bert got the TD, then got pinned in the first. Didn't Paulson D-Fall Askren last year?

That injury timeout was a bunch of BS. There was no injury. I think Missouri was lacking a lot of conditioning.

Yeah. It was technically a defensive pin but it was more of a scramble more than anything. Bert was on top and was on the offensive.
