Here's the schedule:

Big 12 Wrestling Championship Schedule of Events
11 a.m. - First round matches: maximum of 10 matches on two mats
Noon - Semifinal matches: 20 matches on two mats
Break
4 p.m. - Consolation matches: 10 matches on two mats, followed immediately by third-place matches: 10 matches on two mats and eligible challenge matches on one mat
7 p.m. - Championship matches: 10 matches on one mat

Our first round matchups:

125 #4 Clark vs. #5 John Olanowski (Missouri)

165 #4 Reader vs. #5 Max Dean (Oklahoma)

197 #4 Bertolino vs. #5 Clayton Foster (Oklahoma State)

TEAM SCORING
Scoring shall be as follows:
First place 10 points
Second place 7 points
Third place 4 points
Fourth place 2 points

I didn't find anything about bonus points. Anyone know if there are extra points for major/t. fall/fall?

in high school i think it was 1 pt. for a major, 1.5 for a tech. fall, and 2 for a pin. but i've been away from tournament scoring for about 10 years now so i don't know if this is correct.

I found this info on Wildcards:

WILDCARD PROCEDURES

The eight wildcard positions (fourth- and

fi fth-place fi nishers in the Conference championship eligible for the NCAA

championship) shall be selected by an open vote of the coaches. The vote will take place during a mandatory
meeting immediately following the consolation matches.
The following criteria will be utilized in the prescribed order when selecting wildcards to the NCAA championship:

�� Head-to-head competition against ranked wrestlers.

�� Current rankings.
�� End-of-the-year performance.

Other considerations include the following:
�� Past performance at NCAA championship and/or competition within conference.
�� Special situations (injuries, upset possibilities, etc.).
�� Strength of weight class.
�� Team championship possibilities.

Add in advancement points, and scoring should really be 11-8-4.5-2.5-0.

Standard bonus points apply (Fall/Forf/DQ/ID: 2; TF5: 1.5; TF4/MD: 1).
