Re: Friday Morning Session

Damnit Slaton wins 2-1 in OT, the Squawks are now 2 for 2 today with Metcalf and Perry up next.

That match kind of seemed like every ISU vs. Iowa match in the last 20 years.

How long are the tie-breaker periods... 30 seconds or 1 minute?

Re: Friday Morning Session

From this point forward it just appears like Iowa wrestlers have better match-ups. I think quickly Iowa could pull away unless ISU gets some upsets and Iowa falters. Iowa's style is more of a "go get it" style and with them being in the lead they are probably just gaining momentum.

That's what you get when you wrestle defensively. Exactly what I expected to happen. I don't think Nick can beat him quite honestly.

The first one is a one minute sudden death period, if no scoring then (2) 30 second periods.

Iowa is going to walk away with this thing. Hopefully we can pull 2nd, but I'm predicting 3rd at this point.

I hate to agree but I have to. They are almost assured of 4 semi finalist now and personally I think they will have 6 with Keddy being the one losing today. If all 7 of their guys do make the semis this tournament is for second place.

Sickening that we can't seem to ride our opponent, but they ride the snot out of us.

Re: Friday Morning Session

Metcalf only beat his next opponent 5-3 earlier this year. Perry still scares me a little bit with regards to his knee and shape.

I think Brent will win, Perry should win. Borschell majored Sinnott at the Midlands, but Brandon is a very good wrestler and is the 5 seed.

Keddy has a very tough draw with Pucillo, but lost 3-2 earlier this year. Fields beat Rosholt by one in Iowa City, but Matt is hit or miss.

I wouldn't say that Iowa is going to walk away with this thing just yet.

Varner might pin Kish...Kish has a bad, bad wing. I think Bert could get another upset. Zabriskie has a tough one in Bergman. Mendes beating Gallick was another blow for ISU, but expected.

Reader has to win.

So the odds are getting longer for ISU...they can't afford any more losses in this round.

Re: Friday Morning Session

Of course it is mathematically possible still. The realist in me says Nick's loss to Slaton all but shut the door.

While not watching it, just reading it, I don't understand how when your down 3-0 in the third you can get stalling called on you twice. Don't know if I want to watch the tape when I get home.
