Salary? Yes.
Total? No. J Robinson makes an absolute killing off of his camps, as do a few others.

Re: Sanderson the highest paid coach
Cael is worth every penny, and then some. Hope he makes some nice extra bank from his camps. My bet? 2 national championships within 5 years.

Re: Sanderson the highest paid coach
Illinois shouldnt have a problem finding a replacement for johnson if they are paying that much, same with OU/Spates after next year.

I was shocked at how little Brands makes, however, I guess he does get paid, on top his coaching salary, by the university for consulting (consulting what, I don't know).

Re: Sanderson the highest paid coach
Brands is getting ripped off -- if his salary was related to attendance he and lickliter should be about even

Well the could get paid six figures, or just not get paid for anything (which is what happens to most wrestlers) related to Wrestling.

Re: Sanderson the highest paid coach
Cael's base salary includes camps, bonuses (if champs), and other things through the university.
I think some other coaches don't consider the bonuses and camps as part of their base salaries.

I don't follow wrestling closely I obviously cheer for ISU and try and watch the ISU/U of I meet each year, so I'm actually asking, how good a coach is Sanderson? He seems to be a great recruiter from what I can see, but is 2 NC in 5 years feasible with his coaching skills (not knocking him, honestly asking)?

After next year, I"m not sure what we're looking at in terms of overall strength in the team, but it's bound to be a drop because of how many we'll graduate. To get back within another 4 years? Definitely feasible.
Also, he's the first ISU coach to get us to win 3 straight conference titles, and I don't know the last time we finished in the top 5 three years in a row. (87-89?)
