Why not a coach in the Iowa State system already????

Knows all the current wrestlers and some of the recurits....

I know that Cody and Cael are brothers and it may seem like he is taking Cael so called trash, but these boys are good the could take out iowa next year for all are back. It seemed like Cody was the one running the practice and conditioning. Cody was a head coach at Utah Valley before he became the head assistant here.

Casey would be a hell of a hire also because he was the top assistant under Borelli at Central Michigan.

It's sad that we had it all before... plus Cael to wow the talent.

Even if Cody were interested and he were the best option, I just don't think you can put him as your head coach after this fiasco. He may not even be retained as assistant if he doesn't follow Cael to PSU.

I'm now a little gunshy about any coach Pollard hires. I don't include Rhoads because he basically sought out the job himself, and may have been our only decent option. I like the idea of hiring a Sanderson, it may give us a better chance to keep the Weatherman boys coming, plus keep the guys and recruits we got. That's crucial to keep us from taking a big fall in the wrestling world.

I'm almost certain he's following Cael - and I think we can do much better for the head position.

McDermott basically sought out the job also.

Jeremy- You're probably right, I was just thinking we need somebody that might get us thru this without any major losses in current wrestlers and recruits. Just the Sanderson name might carry some weight, even if it's not Cael. We probably wouldn't ask a Sanderson now and they might not accept anyway. I can't believe all of our current wrestlers wouldn't stay with the great team we'll have next year and a good shot at a national championship, plus they're almost all seniors next year. If some leave, that's another huge red flag.

The thing with wrestling is that the bond between coach and player is incredibly strong and it's common for players/recruits to follow coaches. I would not be surprised at all to some several defections. I hope it doesn't happen, but ultimately it's going to hurt us a lot more than just losing Cael.
