Re: Its frickin wrestling who cares?
It wasn't something I watched or followed. But the team did well and it was nice to have a sport where ISU does well year after year.
Also, what makes this a big deal is the fact that ISU lost yet another coach. It isn't so much that it is wrestling. It is the high turn over from the department that concerns me.

Football is much easier mentally than cross country is, and both are physically demanding. Football people are leaning on you, cross country a hill can bend you over. You start out feeling good in both, and it just all goes to hell. Wrestling you get about 10 minutes of hell, cross country you get a half hour and change of hell (at the college level). Props to those who can do any of these things. -

I never cared much about wrestling until I saw Cael wrestle. -

When the girls made the Sweet 16 it was considered a crowning achievement and they mentioned as one of our best womens teams of all time.

Doesn't change my prior post.

There are 338+ WBB teams in Div1.... (Nationally Played)
There are ..92+ Mens Wrestling Programs.....(More Regional Competition)

I don't necessarily disagree with it, but that is severely hindered by my belief that you are not a wrestling fan. This will, and a guarantee, come off as me being arrogant; but I think that only wrestling fans should be discussing how detrimental and how big of a black eye this is for us. The only rumors I have heard in the past few years about Cael and JP were that they have not gotten along. I follow Wrestling FIRST. I don't care nearly as much about football. The people I hear this from I at first thought were stretching the truth. Not since Cael left. This is a serious unprecedented event. I'm not saying we need to fire anybody yet, but we seriously and honestly have to stop believing every word from the athletic department.
I'm sorry for picking on you IcSyU, but you're (in my mind) the leader for protecting the AD in result of this fiasco. I also used to be a big fan of JP, but this whole ordeal and everything that has been said leads me to think that there is something foul coming from the Jacobsen Complex.

Not going to waste time reading this train wreck - Just a very sad thread title for an ISU "fan" / sports "fan" to start on CF

Again being a top 10 program in wrestling out of 90 or so is not bad, but being a top ten finish in WBB is a higher acheivement I think.
I still think many of the people up in arms about this would not be able to tell a chicken wing from a half nelson.

Re: Its frickin wrestling who cares?
While this thread probably comes off the wrong way, I do understand his point. Half of the people complaining about this couldn't name 5 members of the wrestling team. It seems like this is just an excuse for people to ***** about Jamie Pollard...I feel bad for the true wrestling fans on this board who go out and support the team and have supported Cael for years. For the rest of us, this is just another excuse to whine about our AD and to continue to cry "woe is me" about our bad luck.
