    Greg Randall to be named next ISU head coach (rumor)

    That's what I've got. And yes, I know this has been posted elsewhere and I am hardly the first to report it, but I thought it deserved it's own thread.

    Here's his bio. Unfortunately, it's outdated and doesn't include his recent 2 seasons, which were very good.

    That would be a very good pick up if true! I'm excited if he is the answer for ISU

    Would he be able to retain some of the wrestlers and recruits here and what are the possibilities of him bringing wrestlers and recruits from BSU

    Obviously I would have preferred us not have had to find a new coach. Since Cael left, I would have put Koll #1, Randall #2, and Heskett #3. I think Randall is a solid hire. I don't know a ton about wrestling, but it's not like you've got 20 guys out there that are obviously great coaches. Iowa, Minnesota, Oklahoma State aren't going to lose head coaches to Iowa State so you look at guys that have had success in places that previously hadn't. Randall fits that role, and I think he'll keep us a top 5-7 program.

    Spooner is usually right when it comes to wrestling info. He is a wrestling junky and knows alot about Iowa High School wrestlers.

    I hadn't thought of him being a ISU fan, but did remember his dad is a ISU alum.
