The more and more that I listen to this guy commentate, the more I can't stand him. He is such a biased SOB, its not even funny. I am watching the replay of the duals and only has a few good things to say about Iowa State but seems like he only wants to talk about Iowa. If he wasn't such an icon on the wrestling seen, I wouldn't mind if I never heard him talk again!

Im not cying, but announcers arent supposed to be biased and Gable is by far the worst. Get him off TV!!

Iowa is to the wrestling world what Florida and Texas are to the football world. Of course the announcers are going to be all over the Hawks, especially one of their ex coaches.

I'm not sure that he's biased, but uninformed. How many times has he struggled with a name? I'm not sure how much homework he has done.

I hate to say it, but I agree with SI.

I don't even think Gable's that great of a commentator. I had the ISU/UNI meet on a few weeks ago and you could tell he was not entirely enthusiastic to be there.

ETA: totally agree with SuperCy, he continually got guys' names wrong and at times I wondered if he was even watching what was going on on the mat.

Maybe they can get Casber to do add some ISU bias. That would be pretty good with those two going back and forth.

I'll agree he isn't a great announcer, but you gotta have him making commentary - he's very knowledgeable about the sport, and has done a pretty good job of "dumbing it down" for people who don't typically follow wrestling.

I disagree. I think he talks very technical during commentary, and people that don't know wrestling have no clue what he is talking about.

maybe that's why I was unimpressed, I don't need the dumbing-down. I guess I just expected something different?

So get out the F out! did anyone listen to takedown radio. Those guys knew what they were talking about, knew everyones name, and even gave updates on the Hawks match. I dont care about that he doesn't brag about the Clones just give them credit when credit is due.

If Iowa is Florida (which I agree with that statement), than ISU is Oklahoma. ISU might not be "Iowa" in wrestling, but they are probably the 2nd (at LEAST top 5) most important. And your point about him being "one of their ex coaches" well he is also "one of ISU's ex players".

He is to Iowa what Dick Vitale is to Duke. Yeah, we get it, you like Duke/Iowa, but can you please let the coach/players play; they have to find it hard to play with their pants at their ankles so you can kiss their butt so much!

I would rather have him be a Bobby Knight type commentator. Bobby Knight knows his **** and doesn't play favorites with anyone. He just tells it like it is and breaks it down for everyone to understand.

And that Ex coach a Cyclone . . ergo: Iowa wrestling is ISU's spawn.

Maybe I will just listen to it on takedown radio with my headphones and just watch it on TV with the volume down so I don't have to listen to his dumb ***.
