Christy Johnson-Lynch receives contract extension through 2028

Iowa State Volleyball coach Christy Johnson-Lynch earned a contract extension after her team qualified for its 16th NCAA Tournament behind the leadership of the longtime coach.

In Johnson-Lynch’s 19 seasons behind the helm, Iowa State has amassed over 20 wins 10 times.

“In continuing to lead the Iowa State Volleyball program, I am extremely grateful for the support and confidence of Dr. Calli Sanders and Jamie Pollard,” Johnson-Lynch said in a release. “I am fortunate to work in one of the nation’s best athletic departments, and live and raise a family in a community I love. The support, Cyclone Nation, and the wonderful community we are a part of here in Ames is what every coach hopes for. I’m so excited for the next several years as we continue to make Iowa State one of the best places for volleyball in the country.”

The new contract will employ Johnson-Lynch, who’s resume includes five Sweet 16 trips and a pair of visits to the Elite 8, through December 31, 2028.

In the past three seasons, Iowa State has finished in fourth in the Big 12, growing its conference win total in each year.

The Cyclones will look to build on their 20-10 (11-7) year next season, as Johnson-Lynch enters her 20th campaign with the program.
