Iowa State junior safety Kamari-Cotton Moya was named the Big 12 Co-Defensive Player of the Week after his performance in the win over Texas Tech, the conference announced on Monday.
The Bakersfield, Calif. native forced two turnovers, including a 48-yard interception returned for a touchdown, in Saturday’s 66-10 win over the Red Raiders. He also forced then recovered a fumble and collected six tackles, one of them for a loss.
The interception was Cotton-Moya’s second of the season. Iowa State will close out the regular season on Saturday when West Virginia visits Jack Trice Stadium for a 2:30 p.m. kick.
