Wow Marshalltown native here and glad for Jeff but being a lifelong Pirate fan this one puzzles me. With the 2nd pick in the 2008 draft and future 1st basemen Pedro Alvarez waiting in the wings I need to ask the question where is Jeff going to play? I can see him behind the plate but the would require Doumit being traded. Will his knees hold up?

I wouldn't be surprised to see Sanchez traded next. Probably to the Giants.

They will trade him ASAP, they have DY tearing it up and want to get him to 2nd so they can move Milledge up.

Alvarez, thats who I was thinking of... I guess they are just hoping Clement can keep the seat warm untill Alvarez makes it up...

Pearce is odd man out I believe. The organzation was all but ready to dump him a month ago. Jones has had a career month with 10 homers but he will move out to right field. Jarmillio and Robinson Diaz are quality catchers the Pirates have. My guess is that Doumit gets traded in the off season, they dabble with Jeff at catcher and first base and wait to see if big Pedro is ready to come up sometime next season. In all honestly the Pirates have some good young arms and trying to add some power to a offense that needs it. I believe after today there is only 1 current Pirate over 30 years old. Freddie is next to sail away

It's crazy to think the Pirates finally have a huge assortment of quality, young players. I agree, I think Pearce is the odd man out. Within the past year the Pirates have a complete upgrade in the Top 10 prospects. Good things!

Hey I notice you are a good ole Bucco fan...I see you post on CReport..I do have membership there and can only view post there was blacklisted. Thats another story but anyway the Pirates are really setting up a good base...I just dont see where Clement will fall into place. With that being said Duke, Maholm, Morton and Ohlendorf are going to be nice solild starters.

Neil Walker will be only be a role player in the bigs...Is Jeff King available??? I am also hearing great things about pitcher Tabata... PNC is short to right field and deep and long in center and left. Get some speed at the top and get some legit left handed power ie Clement and things could fall into place.
