This should be a fun story to watch and see where it goes. I'd better go get popcorn and get ready for some good reading on these forums tonight and tomorrow!

Thanks. Not that I live and die by the rankings, but does anyone know what star ranking he had before committing?
If he comes, I will support him. But, I have to be honest, an Indiana State signee that Greg didn't try for at UNI does not excite me very much.
The thing is, that I am scared that this means that GMac does not think that he will get any of the guys that we are recruiting for next year.

I highly doubt GMac is thinking something like that. He just brought in a pretty decent/good class for this winter, and last season turned out better than I expected. I'm willing to put my money that he just sees something in this kid that he likes and thinks/believes that he can use on the team.
My guess is that Vette is a late bloomer. If he is a legit 6'9, 245 then he will be bigger than anyone else on our roster now. That is a tad bigger than Homan as a freshman.

It's highly possible we get a commit from him tomorrow. He could end up being a lot like Vroman IMO.
I agree, he plays with lots of energy and has a nice shot from the perimeter, also had some good dunks in the title game.
To ask the obvious follow-up question: Do you have any reason to think he will committ, or is it just a hunch/wishful thinking?
I've read in some article I found linked in one of these threads that he is visiting and it sounds like he would fit in well here. I forget what it said exactly but it made it sound quite possible he will come here. Something to the effect of "How long will it take to make a decision to make a new committment? Answer: 'That depends on how well my visit to ISU goes this weekend.'"
Sounds like he would commit this weekend if he wants to come here.
I've seen this kid play numerous times and his play reminds me a lot of Grant Stout. I think he would be a good fit.
