What does the current one represent? Idaho State? Illinois State? Indiana State?
It's impossible to have a nice, collegiate looking, logo without having a logo that says your entire school name. Examples: M - Missouri, N - Nebraska, OU - Oklahoma, OSU - okie state. All of those could stand for other schools as well. If our logo was ISU, you could put 2-3 other schools in there as well. People will start to recognize the I-state and its colors.

What do those all have in common? They're recognized because they WIN.

Personally, I would like to see an alternate jersey/pants combo, maybe a all gold jersey, gold pants home game, or cardinal jersey, cardinal pants game, so it kind of coincides with the golden/ cardinal rules days.

I think all gold unis with the cardinal stripes and helmet would look completely B.A. for golden rules day. IMHO.

And I'm fairly sure that will surpass Oregon for the ugliest uniform.

I personally like them much better than anything else we have had in recent memory. For those who don't like them, can you please explain what you don't like about them? Is it because we look like USC or is it something else?

1. The name of our school is everywhere - I-State on the helmet, Iowa State on the jersey front, and I-State again on the upper left side pant. Why no "Cyclones" anywhere? This seems to be true with all of our sports' unis.
2. Either the "I" in I-State on the helmets should have been yellow to stand out, or the helmets should have been white. As it stands, the cardinal I on a cardinal helmet is extremely hard to see on TV.
I can't think of another team where the dominant logo, like our "I", is the same color as the helmet. Big mistake.

Well, you said I-state could stand for Illinois state or Indiana st. Well, ISU could stand for the same. As well as the logo's I mentioned, M could stand for Michigan or Mizz. OSU could be ohio state or okie state, and so on. No matter what logo we have it could be confused with other schools. And yes, you're right, until we start winning more and getting more national coverage it doesn't matter what we have.

Oregon uses the neon yellow though which yes is ugly, but if you use the actual color gold (our gold) then it will look way better, and mix the cardinal in as well and they could look pretty cool. But i would only say do it for one game (golden rules game)

It would be cool to see them mix it up a bit and that way this could really set us apart from USC like everyone is wanting

I was arguing with the other guy. He was saying that the old logo sucked because you couldn't tell who it was for. Guess what, you can't with the current one. The logo doesn't make it popular, winning does.

Oh alright, I didn't really catch that. Winning will solve all of our problems..

I think that sounds like a great idea, but it could potentially be horrible. Personally I would settle for gold helmets. The photoshopped images on here have me convinced. We wouldn't be mistaken for USC with those.

I also agree that there should be more mention of "cyclones" on the uniform. Also, why don't we used the revamped Cy logo anywhere? They came in, made this new logo and pledged they wouldn't do anything with Cy, but I don't see it used anywhere tastefully. I really do like it better than the old one too...way more refined.

Love new uniforms, don't change them again. Same with the logo. I've said it before but gold alternates would be nice and throwback games are alright too. And here's an idea ISU marketing: how about making the away jersey replicas for sale, and maybe some different # choices.

ISU or ISU marketing does not dictate the color/number for the replica jersey Nike does. You see other teams that have multiple colors/numbers because their fanbase has proven that they will definately buy the jerseys. Until ISU improves to a high level of success for a few years be prepared to have one jersey color and one number to choose from for replica jerseys.

I agree with this, I thought our uniforms would look good with a gold helmet. Also, I don't think there is any reason why we can't have Cy (it is our secondary logo) on the helmet except they are trying to get people used to the new logo.

I will say (I've experienced this first hand), Idaho State, Illinois State, Indiana State are all lower division schools and most people who see my IState cap outside of Iowa can figure out that it stands for Iowa State. I don't know how much of a problem the old logo was, but for a new logo, most people I meet can recognize or can accurately guess what it stands for.

The I is Cardinal and the State in gold so the State will stick out more and further seperate us from that other school east of us...
