Re: Official Release from ISU: Rynolds has Broken Leg

Maybe TheCity can fill us in on how is brother is going to proceed in regards to the medical waiver for this season.

This really sucks. He was second on the team with catches in a relatively new offense that has had some throwing issues to say the least. I think if we ever really got the passing game going, he was going to be an important part of it.

BTW - might I suggest we change the title a bit.

Scared the crap out of me on first look - thought he had been released from his schollie.

I was extremely bummed-out when my wife told me the news about Money yesterday. Here's hoping that he takes the time to heal properly and comes back strong next year. Get well, Money.

Actually I meant the fact that have 70-some yards after four games makes you second best receiver.

It's by number of catches. Reynolds' 13 catches is second to Hamilton with 15 catches. Reynolds is 4th in yardage.

I'm pretty sure that the cutoff for a medical hardship in football is 4 games or less. Parker and Reynolds should both qualify.

Techically, he cannot apply for a medical hardship until after he completes his senior season.

In his defense, he hasn't gotten the ball in space pretty much even once.

I would guess the game is quicker than he's used to and the dancing resulted in lost yards when he should've been squeezing every yard out of the run possible.

I agree, though, I didn't expect 5 yards a catch.

Honestly I didn't expect any sympathy, empathy or understanding from you. However I won't say anything negative hindsight. I am proud of my brother's accomplishments and how far he has come. I love him and he will be back.

GO CYCLONES!!!

I feel bad for him and hope he can return better than ever. We need the rest of the WR & TE to start getting separation, running hard and making plays. Some of you have pinned WAY too much of our ineffectiveness on the QB. Maybe we should start earning our hype.

Morale is high and doubt is out.

Yes Money fractured his fibula just above his ankle attempting to catch a pass that was thrown low yesterday in practice. He is saddened but hopeful. He has dealt with broken bones in the past and is a quicker "healer". However he is desiring a medical redshirt because he wants a chance to play a full two years.

This injury also gives me the opportunity to disclose that his lack of playing time in the Kent St. and Army game was due to a sprained ACL in his shoulder the week of Kent St. thus the reason the original depth chart released that week had him starting and the final depth chart resembled differently. He was being saved for conference play...from what I was told.

No worries as to if he will be okay. We talked all night and he eventually was back to his smiling joyful self. He even joked that " I ain't never doing this [breaking a leg] again." and he sent me a picture that he took from his phone. Though his performance on field has not lived up to expectation to many, he said he is having the time of his life and he wouldnt trade it for anything. He loves his teammates and his coaches and he will stay positive about the injury.

On a more heart felt note, I'd like to personally thank QB Austen Arnaud for all his concern, sympathy and kind words. He was the first to contact me after Money did and express how much he was sorry. That is a true leader for you (and don't tell him I told you but Money said Arnuad was in tears) He's got my heisman vote!!!

This doesn't keep us from FULL support and even attending the games! My father and cousins are coming out to Arrowhead this weekend! I will be watching from VA!

Very glad to hear this. I think Money could turn out to be a very special player at ISU. This will give him time to heal, learn the offense, and learn his new position. Some of us might have forgotten that he spent most of his time at junior college as a QB.

Don't let the "Nay Sayers" cloud your perception. The majority of Cyclone Nation was deffinitely not dissapointed in Money's on field play. The passing offense as a whole is not clicking yet and that can not all be put on Money's shoulders.

Tell him we are all behind him and we are looking forward to, hopefully, two great years after the medical redshirt.

Thanks so much for the insider info. We really appreciate it!

It is very hard to make yardage on one yard swing passes to the outside when you have little blocking from the blockers. We continue to avoid throwing deep perhaps due to inaccuracy, but at some point we do not need all our receivers clumped close to the offensive line.

The defense has been a pleasant surprise. The offense still needs to get it going.

I know. I am still in awe to even see my brother have the chance to play on the big stage....

Hopefully by spring he will be back at 110% and have had the time to watch and learn...

Good stuff, speedy recovery to him.

- What do they expect the results of the medical redshirt "application" to be?
- Has the staff informed him how long that process will take?
- In the event he would know the results soon, is there a "plan B" if the results are not favorable and to see if he can get back on the field late this season?
