Just got back from KC and flip on the television to see that our game made Sportscenter -- the very last two plays.

They made sure to point out the small crowd at Arrowhead and how beating K-State would have been better than "VEISHEA Days".

Is this really how we appear to the national audience?

Idk what the F ESPN's problem is with the attendance. Did they really expect two college teams to sellout Arrowhead?!? It was around 40K and about 20K per team. I thought that was pretty damn good for ISU's part! I'd say for most it's a 3-4 hour drive and only about 1 hour for K State. Did they honestly expect Iowa State to fit jack trice 50K all in there for the game? Was it the biggest crowd ever recorded? No. Was it pathetic and embarrassing like ESPN thinks? No. Good lord in this economy Cyclone fans did damn good IMO.

As if going to bed irritated wasn't enough...

I woke up... turned on the T.V. Still on ESPN... gues what the first thing I saw was?

Yeah... the exact same thing you described. How crappy is that?

I was surprised that the game even made SC...what's the old saying...there is no such thing as bad publicity.

Dude, take a valium. The crowd was pathetic from the shots I saw.

By the way, there seem to be plenty of these type of games being played at neutral sites these days...Bama/Clemson in Atlanta last year, Bama/Va Tech in Atlanta this year, OU/BYU in Dallas this year, A&M/Arkansas in Dallas this year, I think the Mizzou/Illinois game has been in St. Louis for several years...at any rate, this was the worst crowd I have seen at one of these type of neutral site games.

Well, yeah. Look at the teams you just mentioned. They either have a strong tradition, coming off big years, have big expectations, or are ranked. KSU/ISU has none of those things. I thought 40K was a very respectable crowd, considering the teams' current situations.

Then they cracked on ISU while talking about Chizik/Auburn sitting at 5-0 and the fact that he's won more games thus far at Auburn then he did in his two seasons at ISU.

Complain when we don't get any air time...complain when we do. The babies are out in full force!

Hated the ending, but damn that was a sweat catch and when I was watching, they showed the catch 3 times - giving Jake major props for coming down with it.

I would guess most football fans across the country don't know what conference we're in w/out giving it some serious thought.

We are one of the worst BCS programs in existence. Until we change that, we get what we deserve.

Did you ever notice that it's always everyone else's problem with us? It's never our problem. Why don't the impartial observers view us as we do? Weird.

We will change the perception, but it's gonna be a slow turn. As a football school, we've accomplished as close to nothing as any other BCS school around. We're bad now and have been bad for 95% of our years.

This is an us problem, not a them problem.

Hopefully we'll get it turned, but from where we've been as a program, it's gonna have to be about 178 degrees before anyone in America cares and probably rightfully so.

You think ISU is a football school? I'd say we are more of a basketball school, considering our success there.

NO, NO, NO.

We're clearly not a football school and never will be. I was saying in terms of football, not that we're a football school.

BTW, I prefer to look at us as a wrestling school the last 4 years.

I'm a sexist pig and can't bring myself to watch a women's sport other than sand volleyball. Watching women's basketball is similar to watching paint dry to me.

I'll take wrestling and you can have vball and women's bb.

If I watched sports based on how hot our players were, I'd take that deal. :cute::wink:
