I'm not going to get into this with you in the "non rivalry forum" but tell me again how well did you sell out the Missouri game at JTS a few years ago when the winner would be the North champ?

Nice mis-direction. I look forward to hearing about this game for the next 50 years. Why not bring up the countless times since fans turned out in droves to watch really terrible football?

Totally agree. They are the worst fanbase of all-time. The support of this current MBB team proves that they are horrid fans. Only when they are good, right EIU?

Heck, we went what 15-16 last year....and still finished 3rd in attendance last year in the B12. We are just BETTER fans.....and I do attribute that more because we typically only have ALUMNI for fans.

Loyal Sons forever true. Go Clones!

Bingo.

How's ISU attendance been for football games? You can say I'm misdirecting but you mentioning basketball is the same attempt at changing the subject. ISU's football attendance is terrible and this year Iowa's men's basketball attendance is terrible, case closed.

Just stop it. You are making youself look like a fool. Comparing Iowa's mbb attendance to ISU football? Wow...I'm seriously speechless.

Terrible for ISU football? :biglaugh:

Compared to Iowa, yes, our attendance is lower, but when you have 1/2 the fans, it's going to be. When your stadium is smaller, it's going to be.

Comparing ISU's football attendance to Iowa's MBB attendance the past few seasons is terrible. Iowa's MBB attendance is the hot dog thrown down the hallway of ISU's football attendance that's how pathetic Iowa's MBB attendance is. Iowa State's WOMEN compete in attendance with the Iowa men, and people have to actually pay to see the Twister Sisters. We don't just let students in to push attendance over 13 people.

It's true about basketball. But not football. Not even close. Of course, Iowa State has had a pretty decent run in bball since Tim Floyd was the coach so I'm not sure it says too much about the loyalty of the fans when nearly every fan can remember when ISU was the second best team in the nation.

As I've stated before, Iowa's basketball attendance is horrible, but to say that Iowa as a fanbase is terrible is just a joke. Iowa's fanbase is a reason they'll be in The Fiesta Bowl on Sunday when the BCS bowls come out.

Iowa's football fanbase. You're missing the point here. We never criticized the football fans that show up on fall Saturdays at Kinnick and bowl games, we're saying Iowa fans suck for everything else. A fanbase supports all programs, not just football and wrestling to a lesser extent. Iowa State has fans (see: Volleyball, MBB, WBB, Football, etc.). Last year when the Twister Sisters played in Iowa City, ISU put as many ***** in seats as Iowa did. Iowa's football fans show up in numbers. Iowa's fan base sucks.

  1. Isn't the argument about supporting a team when it is down?
  2. There is a difference in football and basketball
  3. What were the attendance numbers like for Iowa when they had bad years?
There is no doubt Iowa has more fans. But I don't think you can say that ISU does not have loyal fans. They have 30,000+ that sat through 5 wins in two years. That same 30,000 will follow ISU through thick and thin. It is the bandwagoners that jump. Iowa has a lot more fans and a lot more bandwagon fans. It is what it is. iowa state needs ot win consistently to gain more bandwagon fans. It is that simple. And it isn't winning for 5 years but winning for a decade.

55,000 is Jack Trice's capacity correct? 70,585 is Iowa's. So we have 15,000 more seats, yet still find a way to fill them? Nice try though.

Yeah, you have to support ALL sports to be a great fanbase. EIU....does not do this. Hence, you suck and always will suck because you can only root for 'em when they are winning.

These are MAJOR reasons why we (ALUMNI) hate Iowa Athletics and it's so-called great supporters.

If ISU was experiencing a possible BCS bowl this Sunday, the "fanbase" for ISU would be huge right now. I expect the bandwagon will be so full of fans for the basketball program by mid December I'm not sure if the 5 or 6 of you "loyal fans" will have anywhere to sit.

closer to 53,000 counting hillsides...about 45,000 actual seats. Iowa's fan base = double Iowa State's would be my guess. What part of this aren't you understanding? Iowa's football fans show up, now where the **** are those 70,000 in Carver-Hawkeye? Hell, how about 5,000? Do they count the vendors in the attendance so they can double it to 36 instead of 18? They're having to PAY their fans to show up to games.

Couldn't tell you, I support Iowa athletics whenever I can. Listen, Iowa State has loyal fans, Iowa has loyal fans, it's an argument we can have for pages and pages of garbage but let's just agree that right now Tiger Woods is in some deep ****. :jimlad:

Iowa gave FREE admission (I'll repeat, FREE admission) to all students last night for a game against an ACC opponent.....and they still couldn't fill 1/2 their seats.

Pathetic.
