Somewhere in the U.S.
GMac has gone 9-5, 10-5 and 11-4 in non-conference the previous 3 seasons. He has gone 11-4 this year. What is there to be optimistic about? He has dismissed one player, suspended another for the rest of this month. The team beat a very mediocre NDSU team today by 2 points, and they were lucky to do that.

Even against poor competition, they get out-rebounded consistently. They can't guard the 3 point shot if their lives depended on it.

How can anyone be excited about Big 12 play and think that this year is somehow going to be different than past years? This team looks dysfunctional now. If someone does not see that, then that person has not been watching.

So we beat neb and co twice which is 4 wins. then we just need 4 more wins (plus conference tounry win) and we're IN! that honestly doesnt seem too hard this teams got so much room to improve (they've played bad and still are 11-4). I'm fine with where we stand right now. Can't wait for the conference opener wed!!!!!!!!!

Same thing that was said the past three years, and we all know how they turned out. Unfortunately, I have lost faith. Unless something miraculous happens, we are going to have another long, painful Big 12 season.
So you are saying there is a chance!!!! You haven't lost faith with a statement like that.

Thought everyone could use a little reality check and a break from all of the negative threads regarding the men's basketball team.

Here are the facts:
- Finished the non-confernce schedule with an 11-4 record.
- Three of the four losses were against Cal on their home court, Duke at a neutral site, and UNI. Those are three NCAA tourney teams folks, not the end of the world.
- The loss to Northwestern will be our only 'bad' loss come the end of the year and that came at another 'neutral site'.

At the start of the season I expected us to finish the non-conference at 12-3 so we are not that far away. It will take 20 wins to get to the big dance and while it won't be an easy run in conference we really only need to play 500 ball the rest of the way (8-8 conference record) and get 1 win in the Big 12 tourney to get to 20.

My guess is that this board will be singing a bit of a different tune after we win our first game in the big dance and are 1 win away from the sweet 16.

It will all come together folks. You just gotta have some faith!

Give...me...a...break.

You think 8-8 is good enough? No freaking way unless KU or UT are among those 8.
