This will be another horrible season. 6-7k per game. Players look lost. We win another game like the K-State game, and he'll get another year. **** this!

So, you think Mac is back because of the K. State game?

Mine is: Hoping for the best. Watching the games and finding out the results.

(I refuse to expect the worst, but I don't assume we will be a top half of the conference either). We play the games for a reason. I cheer for them and hope for the best.

Ask me at the beginning of next season. We haven't even finished this one.

Five options, Three being negative and one neutral. 58 positive/neutral and 16 negative, this on a day he was allowed to stay which probably helps the negative nellys.

I want McD to win as much as anyone! Although the results speak for themselves and there is things called accountability.

However - since he is getting another year, GO GET THEM McD. I would love to see him succeed here, however if he can't I want someone that can.

No, it kinda gives JP a leg to stand on though I think. This message board was kinda a joke after the game. Haven't seen so much positive energy since back to back conf. titles. The fact that everybody has forgotten how big of a joke the last four years have been after one freaking win kinda makes me ill. Guess i didn't no 11th in the big twelve with a pretty good team felt so good!

I'm with you. Where do people get off being happy for beating the number 5 team in the country on their home court. :jimlad:

That's where I'm out. I'll start with season with high optimism and no expectations.

I'm always optimistic at the beginning of a season, but I try to make sure that my optimism, even when it borders on delusion, does not turn into expectation. I'll go into it optimistically, and we'll go from there. GO CYCLONES!

I agree with all these. I'll be pumped for the season by the time it gets here and will be excited to support the team. But I will try to limit any expectations I may have (I'm starting to learn.) I'll just be there and enjoy the ride.

Okay, heading into the conference tourney and next season I feel terrible. WHY? Did you hear/read the press conference??? I was disappointed that GM was coming back, and I knew I shouldn't have even glanced at it but you know, I thought maybe I'll hear something that makes me believe and be excited about next year, SUCKER!!!

I've lost a ton of respect for GM this year, AS A COACH, and no I've lost just as much for JP, AS HIS BOSS. WHAT KIND OF EXPECTATIONS DO WE HAVE??? GM said he never felt he wouldn't be the coach at ISU???? Why the heck not?? If that was my job performance I would have expected to be fired, no wonder he doesn't win, there's no pressure from his boss. JP repeated talked about the character, well if that's the only measure we are concerned about then why not just go to the best students in the country and give them scholarships regardless if they can play???? I agree we need student athletes that aren't going to screw up, but you need to balance that with winning, and in the last 4 years if we had at least had a .500 conference record, or shown some improvement from year to year then I'd buy, but with this, it's gotten worse.

NEXT YEAR???? First, GM says he does't plan on changing things!!!! YOUR COACHING IS COSTING US THE GAMES, NOT THE PLAYERS!!!!! YOU PLAY TO YOUR STRENGTHS!!!! So, we get to head into next year with the same plan, and without our two best players, GREAT. Then, JP thinks it's unfair to expect this team to make it to the NCAA tourney???? AFTER 5 STINKING YEARS???? I am dreading next year, but won't cheer against them to get someone fired, just hoping a light goes on in one of these two guys heads because we got a big fat snowjob today and it sucks to be a fan hearing that crap. When you screw up and don't execute you stand up as a man and say "I screwed up, I failed you, and I will do the things I need to do to fix it". You don't stand there as a boss and support a guy who says I am sticking with my plan, which has produced 3 years of 4 win seasons in the conference, you tell him to have the "come to Jesus" talk and change his ways.

I guess the biggest thing that stands out to me is just how fortunate we are the Chizik left on his own, because I there's NO WAY Jamie's Pride is going to let him get in the way and admit HE SCREWED up and made a bad hire, which is exactly what GM is to date.

I expect a lot of hype about how the new recruits could really be difference-makers. And then watch the team struggle in non-conference games. And after another year at the bottom of the Big 12, I expect Mr. Pollard to repeat his press conference from today. This cycle will continue ad infinitum.

What about all the losses? What about the end of Hilton Magic? One good win.

what does that have to do with people being happy that they beat Kansas State?

Here, wrap your little head around this. It's possible to be disappointed in the season and still happy that we beat a ranked team on the road. It's possible to see wasted potential this year, but be hopeful for next. It's possible to have doubts about the coach, and still cheer the team and wish them success.

I made my vote before I read in your post to assume that both Brackins and Gilstrap are gone. I have some hope that at least one of them will be back (Gilstrap). If we get at least one of them back, we should be able to field a pretty good team and be looking at the NCAA tournament next year.

I'm sure I am in the silent minority here, but I can't stay quiet forever. I think we're better off if CB and MG declare and hire agents.

Bash me if you must, but I feel we play better as a team with CB on the bench, and MG turns the ball over way too much.

I hate myself for saying this, because I like both of these kids, but I voted "next year is the year" because I assume they are both bringing home paychecks next year.

Thank You

Sorry about the McD name I had up in the poll earlier. I meant it as a joke more than anything else in reference to some of the extreme views and strong language people on this site take regarding McD. It's my own fault for not reading the rules closely enough.

Thank you for not banishing me for a first offense, I apologize for my poor taste.
