Nobody, especially with an ego, would call themselves by the wrong title. **** I correct people (even superiors) who call me by the wrong title. You earn it and don't forget it.

I don't care about the public forum. For all intended purposes this is a public forum. I am just syaing in your example your quoted poster was doing something similar by really applying a meaning to something that really wasn't true. It is a loose comparison, I know.

You make that big of a deal out of it and you are only giving up a week? If you are that certain why don't you say you will resign or never talk about the Cyclones again?
A valid point. However, I believe this situation was more akin to Jamie stepping on a dog turd. Sure it sucks and he's gonna have some on his shoe for a little while but it will wash off and no harm will be done.

My whole problem with JP is that im assuming he wants to grow ticket sales for basketball. Not putting a good product on the court isnt going to do that. I understand his response but he also has a job to do himself and thats to better our athletic teams. Anyone out there feel me on this point???

He is the Director of Athletics. I think he could refer to himself as Athletics Director and be correct. I'm no Engresh pRofeshunal, but it is what it is.
Short points I take from this whole diatribe:
-JP responded with less than professional emotion, but perfectly acceptable to me considering the original letter's tone and message.
-JP has done great things with the dept since his hiring, and yep, he is no John Kerry or Obama, he's no poliitician. Sometimes you get raw Jamie, why is that so wrong? As a "great" show of the 80s said, "You take the good, you take the bad, you take them both and there you have it, the facts of life!"
-Matt is a shock-jock and I can't believe that central Iowa puts up with it. But I'm sure a lot of you will tune in today to KXNO today to see what else he says. More than likely he will be softer or more well-thought on his comments to soften you back up. Then when it quiets down, he will send another email to Pollard to stir the pot. Which name will you use next time? j/k. I know it was not you Matt, Mr. Rainey was just a gift for you and your ratings.

It's interesting that Jamie's alleged email response was typed in no less than three different fonts. It seems more than weird, more like unbelievable, that an official email from the athletic department would be typed in three different fonts. Not saying that that makes it fake, but it sure does look suspicious. Also the silence is deafening from the Matt Rainey and the radio guy's camp as far as producing an original genuine email from Jamie. Again that's not proof that it is fake, but is interesting.

It may not be fake in the sence that it physically exist and it was passed on to you from a third party. It still does not make it legitimate.
But in no way was it authored by Pollard.
Of course your agenda doesn't cloud your judgement.

I don't know about all of this "fake" talk. I would have thought JP would have come out to say it was fake if it was, however, he may also be ignoring it and not giving the the hosts the attention they all so desperatly crave. I think that is the wrong move. I would like Pollard to come out and make fools out of every one of those hosts who made the big deal about it. I am not mad because they shared the email or talked about it. What pisses me off is that they blatantly misrepresented what the email actually said. I think that is a pathetic way to attempt to inject anger into a fan base and towards JP. I think they know that they misrepresented this thing. I think that because a PM I sent to Matt Perrault asking to explain where he read "If you don't pay you are not a fan" in any of the email. I have not gotten a reply.
I actually email Pollard today to express my thoughts and feeling on this situation and he confirmed to me that he did infact write the letter.
I could post it on here but would anyone actually beleive me.
