The worst place where you have lived?

Norfolk, NE. It wasn't my 'home' address but the survey crew that I worked on (consisting of myself and one other guy) spent an entire summer there. Hands down, worst place I've ever stayed. That place had such a negative effect on us towards the end of the project that I honestly thought we were gonna kill each other before we could get back to Iowa.

There are bigger cities in Eastern Iowa than Western Iowa...

Plus Western Iowa is closer to ****ing Nebraska

Having grown up in Western Iowa and lived in eastern Iowa I would take living by Omaha any day over any of the factory laiden crap holes that make up the "bigger cities" of eastern Iowa.

Other than the fact that Omaha is full of Husker fans no city in Iowa can even hold a flame to it. Much better restaurant, bars, and live music scene.

My pick for worst place to live is Denver, co. Loved everything around it but actually living for 3 months in actual Denver was hell.

Not really, where I grew up I could be in Omaha in 30 minutes. No where in Iowa could you be in chicago in 30 minutes. Heck I might as well start claiming Kansas City if this is the direction were going. Mason City can claim Minneapolis, Lansing can claim Milwaukee. Fort Madison can claim St. Louis, you see where i'm going here.

When I look at a map Omaha is not Western Iowa... close but not close enough.

My wife is from there and everyone in Rochester will tell you that some stupid magazine listed it as the greatest place to live in 1996. They hang on to that like it is gospel.

Then I break out that Des Moines is listed by some publication every year as the best place to live. They come back with well I don't see a sign for it like Rochester does.

But you are correct every one works at Mayo or IBM.

I hate to type this but Ames was the worst place I lived once I was out of college. I lived in Ames for about 2 years after I graduated and it sucked.

Kansas City...weather is as hot as Texas in the summer, and as cold as Iowa in the winter (I know Iowa gets hot, but on average KC was 10 degrees higher and more humid). Not to mention the city can be explored and old in one day, and the people there have become defensive a-holes. Oh, and one other thing, the city is too close to Kansas and filled with K-State and KU fans. If that doesn't seal the deal for worst place, I don't know what will.

I've lived around Ames and west des moines\waukee pretty much my whole life... but ive spent time pretty much everywhere.

As far as worst places ive ever spent a reasonable amount of time in... id probably have to go with riverside, ca, or Atlanta, GA.

I'm a Hunt Street alum too. I forget my address though. It was one of my favorite place to live, parties, girls, beer, girls, parties....wish I could go back...

When we were looking to move out of the dorms one of my friends (a 4.0 computer engineer now in grad school) was looking at possibly renting houses and found one she liked on Hunt Street. She was really excited about this place, and I couldn't believe she wanted to live there.

I made a comment to this effect and she quizingly asked me what was wrong with Hunt Street.

"You DO realize that is the street where the House Party was that got broken up and lead to the VEISHEA Riot in '04 right?"

Needless to say, the house on Hunt Street was pretty much instantly scratched off the list of places to live

It'd have been fun for a few weeks, but I'm pretty sure everyone in that house would have gotten sick of half the **** that goes down on that street on a weekly basis

Larch Hall, part of it may have been budget cuts but that place was a complete dump.

Let's give him credit though, he does play wing man well, so even though he's CB'ing himself, at least he's not dragging people down with him.

Just from the trip to Tempe, I can't see Kansas, Oklahoma, Western Texas, New Mexico, or parts of Arizona being desirable places to live. Good God.
