I for one would be delighted to go to the Big 10. To me it just makes more sense. I don't understand the logistics of the money game over this and that, but what I do know is the athletic competitiveness and die hard rivalries.

First, location. Big XII really is split as north and south, the trouble is the competition isn't as evenly split. The south just dominates with the exception of Baylor who I quite frankly feel bad for each year. Even at its prime the north may have one or two good, maybe great teams - both basketball and football. It fluctuates more than Oprah's weight, and sometimes calls for some really dismal seasons. Why not include a team from Iowa in a region that geographically makes more sense, Minnesota, Michigan, Illinois, Ohio - all more relative than Texas, Texas, Texas, Texas, and Oklahoma.

Rivalry. Maybe something of more of a local concern, but I'm tired of the talk of the Iowa vs Iowa St game not meaning anything. Besides a few around the country ( Miami vs Florida St. or USC vs ND.) most rivalries are within conferences which makes the games that more meaningful. Now bring in Minnesota just across the boarder, maybe Nebraska follows suite, and throw in an Illinois for good measures, and now you have at least 4 quality matchups for some great attendance, easy travel arrangements, and just some plain good old entertainment.

Yeah, because this is a completely similar situation.

Nobody said it was similar. I just find it funny that you say negative comments don't help ISU at all....yet you were the leader of negative comments 2 months ago.

What's so embarassing? Tavern Hok troll much?

Um, no. Class of 2003 I just have some respect for myself. That site is poorly put together and the information is laughable. There are a lot more compelling arguments to be made than are presented there.

Did you not understand the point of the thread?! If you think there are more compelling arguments, please do tell.

Ok. What are they then? If you have all of these great arguements/points, why keep them to yourself? Why not add to the good of the cause? Why be the turd in the punch bowl?

There are a lot of Tavern Hok trolls that claim to have a degree from ISU. You have yet to prove your point that this site is a bad idea...

I think the site is well-done.

Not sure of its effectiveness. Might have been good to see it 10 weeks ago.

I might have put the land-grant part above the wrestling & secondary sport posts ... but that's just me.

The geographic fit, although it may not matter in the context of decision-making, is obvious.

I don't think the site does any good, but it doesn't matter at this point. We have to try everything and I applaud whoever started this and whoever is writing letters. At least they are trying to fight back, while many are sitting around on their *** letting this happen without even trying to stop it.

With Nebraska soon to be in the Big 10, this is now a true statement. Nebraska is also a land grant university.

OK. I'll admit that I am a moron. But what is really the big to-do about being a land grant university? I always see this thrown around like it is a real big thing, but I really honestly don't know what that means.

Yeah, I can Google and all. But I'd prefer to hear from the passionate fans that can edumacate me here.

I like the site. However the Big 10 does not care if we bring competitive sports. They only care if we bring dollars. Right now we don't. They already have the Big 10 network in all of the state. So we can't help that way. Our revenue is next to nothing compared to them. I think this is all a pipe dream.
I think Jamie probably already has plan a, b, c, d, and if need be plan E.
Cox in Omaha has BTN.

Well done site. If the Big 12 happens to break up big time, this should definitely be a go-to site to dismiss any naysayers who don't know what Iowa State is all about. Athletically, at least right now, it doesn't appear to make much sense for any current Big 10 members, but academically it makes perfect sense.

Very well done. A few suggestions:

In the section Traveling Fanbase & Location, both instances of "it's" should be "its".

Perhaps the Geographic Fit section at the bottom of the page could be combined with the Traveling fanbase & location section.

And I'd play up the Iowa-Iowa State angle a little more. The long term success of conferences depends upon fierce competition amongst rivals.

There is a Contact Us feature on ISU to Big 10. Suggestions for additions to the site or revisions can be made in this manner. I utilized this and got a response back within a couple of minutes.

Again, WOW!, what a great website and what a great thing all of the indviduals involved with putting the website together are doing!
