That's the way it is for every sport at every school, when a team becomes non-viable financially, they give it the axe, ask Pacific University how their football team is doing.

Cocaine's a helluva drug. NU fan comparing NU football to Pacific...wow.

Do you honestly believe what you just said there or are you looking for an argument? I was clearly not comparing the actual teams to each other, I was giving you an example that illustrated that any size of a college will get rid of a team if it doesn't put up the required money.

Pacific's football program was disbanded some time ago for these very reasons, I should have been clearer on that point in my previous post.

More money = more security. With nebbie and CU gone, there is more money for everyone and one less ego. In 2016 our TV contracts are up and we will be the only major conference going through TV negotiations at that time or in the next 10 years. That means supply is low and demand will be high. The Big 12 is sitting on a gold mine in 2016. On top of that, Texas will have their own network. Something they have wanted and can't get anywhere else. Texas isn't going anywhere and if anything that makes us attractive to ND and BYU to join in non football sports setting us up if they ever need to join a "major" conference.

In the end, all these media idiots talked and talked and talked about how the Big 12 would get screwed. The Big 12 came out ahead.

So NU football was in jeopardy of becoming nonviable w/o jumping ship to the B10?

I never understood why nobody seems to be upset with Colorado for ditching the Big 12 North. Was it because they've sucked it up as of late? Or was it that they really weren't as important in keeping the Big 12 together as a school the size of Nebraska was?

I mean, ISU clearly didn't like Nebraska before the whole expansion thing, so shouldn't you guys be glad you don't have be in the same conference as them?

This. They really weren't all that important to keeping the conference as status quo and quite honestly they were easily replaced with any number of teams

I said that college football was about money and that's just the way it is.
You said that it wasn't about money and tom osborne made it about money.
I said that all sports programs at all college are based only on financial gain.
I illustrated this to you by giving you an example of a small college football team that was disbanded because they didnt bring in enough money.
You said I was comparing pacific football to NU football.
I said that I was only giving you an example of a team that got the axe due to revenue not being high enough for said team.

I don't see anywhere that we said NU football was in jeopardy of becoming non-viable, the point of this whole argument (my point at least as I've lost what you're trying to say) is that ALL colleges are going to go where the money is. ISU would have gone, MU would have gone, and NU did go for one, because they were the only ones to get invited and two, the money was better. I get that fans are upset about that and I even understand it, but don't act like ISU wouldn't have jumped at the opportunity if it was given to them.

CHILDREN! Stop this arguing and name calling! "Cant we all just get along?" After all, its just football! This #### of back and forth stuff is just stupid. It does not accomplish anything positive in the long run anyway. ISU fans, they are leaving..get used to it. NU fans, go and dont look back. Both conferences benefit from the change, so get over the harsh feelings.

At the same time, iirc the whole situation, Colorado was originally going to go with the big 12 south to the pac-10. When word started to surface that Baylor was to lobby its way in instead of colorado, and colorado made the jump early to avoid getting ****ed with the rest of the north. I dont blame colorado in this situation, as they were trying to avoid getting ****ed just like we were. And they had a conference calling that was a good fit for them.

Honestly though, i cant blame NU entirely either. You know any B12North school, especially ISU and MU, wouldve jumped on a big 10 offer. It was incredibly selfish, and very sad how schools are willing to ignore a hundred years of history, but i suppose thats to be expected now. I put the most blame on Texas. They really put everything in motion here. If we could wipe austin on the map and still hold the texas market with the remaining big 12 teams, id be just fine with it.

I don't like you in general because a couple pages back you played the victim card in the conference realignment and said Nebraska had no blame. When I pointed out how wrong you were you ignored it. I hate the victim card. Other than that I have no issues with nebbie fans. But don't play the victim card. You left, Texas didn't. They played better poker than you.

I don't recall entering a discussion about conference realignment and saying NU wasn't to blame.... Can you refresh my memory?

HA! who the hell expects sympathy? Every single post of yours is argumentative/insulting in some way, you can't agree with a husker fan about anything simply because they're a husker fan...and sadly, I'm sure that's something you're extremely proud of.

Just the fact that you two responded shows that you need some of this.

Responding to a message board post means I need preparation h? Mkay

Come back later when you have something truly clever to say.

BTW.... Kinda funny you responded to our responses which you deemed hemorrhoid worthy. By default I think that makes you the hemorrhoid. Go ahead and rub some on yourself... Maybe your attitude will shrink like a 'roid.
