If you're capable of coaching that well I'd think you would probably have been able to post this thread in the correct forum.

It was an exhibition. His goal was to get up and down and create tempo. That won't be how the play all year. He has sets and will use them but for this game he didn't need to show future opponents anything.

And no, you can't coach.

Who cares dont be a tool.

I checked his 9 other posts. If he had posted anything remotely positive about anything Cyclone I wouldn't have. However, with his post history, my money is on Troll. So I will go ahead and stand by my insult on use of the proper forum.

I think he has a legit point...

OP, It wasn't just run and gun. Plus, it was only the first game... and it was an exhibition. Do you really think there would be actual plays and a lot of coaching and drawing up plays in a game that we should win easily? Come on.

You'd rather have 99 million plays like McDermott? Its a tuneup game. No point showing plays against a team that can be beat just by playing solid basketball.

Also seeing as a big point of Hoiberg's strategy is trying to enforce proper spacing on the floor (Which has been horrible the last 3 years). There was a point to it other than just don't run any set plays. If you want to run and gun, and play the style of basketball that Hoiberg wants to you should be able to beat an exhibition opponent without running a set play. Spacing in this syle of ball will be just as important as executing set plays.

So we go from 150 plays to ZERO? That is good. We still have seven plays on a napkin.

I was sitting in cyclone alley in the 3rd row, I saw/heard Jake Anderson calling out some numbers and holding up his hand singling out the numbers. So I think they did run some plays.

Last Time I Looked Playing Defenese Counts for Something

I thought our defensive effort was fine. Not like like played it like an intramural game & threw up shots. There were no called plays on offense, but the guys still moved the ball around pretty well.

Hoiberg stated in the pregame the UD game tape would be provided to early season opponents as part of our tape exchange and didn't want to provide them too much to prepare with.

Eustachy didn't put much offense in early in the season and he seemed to do pretty well at ISU. Early season practice on defense, rebounding and conditioning.

I think Hoiberg is trying to instill a philsophy of running and that's what they wanted to do on Friday. They did win by 50, so I guess it worked. I am sure they have plenty of plays worked up and I highly doubt they didn't run any plays on Friday.

Again, i made this comment last night. delete the threads where people make stupid comments making the fan base as a whole look bad. Hoiberg straight up said he wasn't going to run any offensive plays, he didn't want any team having footage of it.
