Yes China has subs. Most of their fleet (~50) is diesel powered, but they have a few nuclear attack subs and a few nuclear powered missile subs. Popular mechanics had a decent writeup this month on how chinese military tech has become more and more focused on attacking our carriers. From what has been in the news about their new anti-carrier weaponry, it looks like pretty scary stuff. Basically, in the event that they were to attack Taiwan, their goal is to take away our ability to use naval power. Taiwan is kinda SOL without our navy as the only forces we have near to defend the island that I know of are in Korea, Afghanistan and whatever we have in Japan. Afghanistan is kinda out of the picture, as planes from there would have to fly across china to get to Taiwan. The forces in korea are there for a reason, that being to deter the crazy person from the north from attacking. If China attacks, I have a feeling el presidente glorious leader would probably try something in the chaos.
In summary, it would be a pretty scary scenario if the chinese decided to invade Taiwan. Especially if they can prevent our carriers from being in the area to provide protection.
I'm really hoping it wasn't a chinese missile.

I think when a person has reached such a level like this on the stupid-ometer, the ban-hammer should come out. Call it a mercy banning or what have you.
If a movie was using what was shown in the movie, no way they did it without either
1. Military assistance, in which case the military would have said "yeah, its a movie"
or
2. Permits of some sort. Pretty sure you have to notify the FAA for any rockets much bigger than what they sell at Hobby Lobby. And from the video, that one looked to be a lot bigger than what Hobby Lobby sells. (although, I admit, it has been a couple years since I built a model rocket, so maybe they have started selling Saturn V's. If that is the case, can you tell me where I can buy the apollo capsule kit? )

Conservatives selected him as their Presidential nominee and voted for him in overwhelming numbers. And in the Republican Primary, he was seen (rightly so) as the more conservative choice between himself and his main competition, John Mccain. Bush was the absolute darling that year of the majority of the far right and of far right special interest groups. By any rational measure of the American political spectrum, Bush was a conservative.
It seems to me that some newcomers to politics have some crazy idea that unless you are at the far-right of the political spectrum on every single issue these days, your not a conservative. This is simply not true, and frankly, the whole idealogical purity thing is scary to most rational people and moderates.

Well when you randomly put a red overlay in the shape of plane next to the crash site it all starts to make sense. This is the defining proof that this is all just a hoax. The conspiracy theory has been unequivocally proven.
