Do the teams they beat get a win added? I wouldn't think so would be my guess.
No. If you are forced to forfeit, you lose the wins, but no one gets them. We've had a few schools that had to forfeit wins, but we never got them.
Auburn, you have officially been chizzed.
So your saying they that they are undefeated???
What if they still win out?
This is my question. What are the BCS implications here? Is LSU now undefeated?
There's a difference this time around, however. As far as I can tell, previous forfeitures/vacations have been done after the fact - one or more seasons after the year(s) in question where schedule manipulation would serve no purpose. In this case, however, if the NCAA were to act fast enoughbiglaugh
, the season in question that they would be ruling on would be this season, W/L manipulation would actually serve a purpose. For instance, Ole Miss - they could potentially finish their season at 5-7. Should that loss against Auburn keep them out of bowl consideration when Auburn was using an ineligible player? Or, consider LSU - should they lose their shot at a BCS championship when they lost to an Auburn team using an ineligible player?
I'm not necessarily saying they will or should adjust records based on a ruling against Auburn, but my impression always has been the NCAA hasn't done it in the past because in the past it served no purpose because it was several years in the past. I'm just saying it's different this time around because it's this season in question and there's still time to fix what was broken.
I don't understand how a team doesn't get the win in a forfeit.
Carrol left due to the recruiting restrictions, the bowl suspensions, etc. USC had violations in multiple sports as well. This will be tied to a sports agent/donor and Cam Newton. The NCAA will have to find fault of the university to put suspensions/fines on the coaches/ university. See UNC, Florida, Alabama at this time. those head coaches did not get touched/fined/etc.Because Chiz has an NFL job waiting for him to run away to?
You're saying that the Chizik effect has wider ramifications than what we've seen before, and I think you're making a good point. Lots of people could get Chiziked in this deal that don't deserve to be.
Question: If this really does go down, what NFL position coaching job can he land? Would anyone in college really touch him again?
Would you touch anything with that much Chiz on it?You're saying that the Chizik effect has wider ramifications than what we've seen before, and I think you're making a good point. Lots of people could get Chiziked in this deal that don't deserve to be.

vacate =/= forfeit

I think you nailed it TAZ -- Also, I'll be amazed if he is suspended. Assuming they can link anything to Auburn (these SEC booster know how to cheat - lots of practice) ......These cases take years to ensure they have the witnesses and evidence they need. Mid-season suspension for a non-felony ain't a gonna happen. It's the safest most conservative approach. If true, you can always get them later.Carrol left due to the recruiting restrictions, the bowl suspensions, etc. USC had violations in multiple sports as well. This is in no way similar to what was going on at USC. USC was found to lack insitutional control on many levels. Cam Newton and an agent/donor will pay the most in this instance. Auburn will get a slap on the wrist unless it is proven that they arranged payment.
I don't understand people who say they feel bad for Newton because he's a nice kid. Do you think he didn't know that taking 200k to come to a school was against NCAA violations? Is he supposed to be an innocent victim in this? He knew what he was doing and I don't feel the slightest bit sorry for him, even more so since he'll still make bank in the NFL. His draft stock will drop, but he'll still get a paycheck out of it.
