Honestly, I don't think we're getting better. I think that we're getting worse. This year was the worst attendance I can remember since the Walden days as far as people in the stands.

I'll take him at his word. We AVERAGE 35K . .our base attendance. Let's just MINIMIZE all those POORER people who don't COUNT . . yet buy tickets and attend the games. Maybe when we win the Big XII several years in a row . . Peterson and his ilk will give the Clone fandom some credit.
Just amazing how many Cyclone posters love defending what Peterson was SUPPOSED to say . . great mind readers out there! LOL
Just saying you have to evaluate those ideas by the data - in this case future sales of season tix. Discounted single game tickets should drive full-price season ticket purchases, and I have yet to see this happen. I doubt it will happen next year.
So really it's just short-term cash revenue - and trains ticket buyers to wait.
I think that most posters on here have a comparatively better grasp on the English language than you.

As long as you take him for the meaning of the words. If you read them literally, you'll agree with me.
If you read them with a persecution complex, you'll keep the tirade going.
He used the word base, which means the bottom; or in this case absolute minimum number of people who will be recorded at each game.
He's telling the truth!! We need to start filling up the stadium each week or we will lose CPR and some of our top coaches... just like before - we won't have the money to pay them once they succeed.
I think Randy Peterson has done a pretty good job covering the Clones this year... and last year - they rotate every two as I recall. Next year we'll have Andrew Logue.

Maybe they just don't worry about semantics as much as you do. Whatever he meant, it still reigns true, our fanbase has been on the border of apathetic. Whether it's history, economy, weather, gametime, lattitude, longitude, or picking the wrong week to stop sniffiing glue(RIP Leslie and I understand it was Bridges that said this, but a quote from one of Nielsen's movies.), it doesn't matter. There were a lot of open seats and that will affect coach retention because of the dollars associated.

Too bad Peterson left out SEASON TICKET HOLDERS versus "base." Base indicates the lowest average . . that has always been my understanding.
But I will just sit back now and see how many ISU fans argue what Peterson didn't say . .
I'm sure you appreciated his Pro ISU take in how the Clones just can't keep coaches because of our "base." But a professional reader should have caught that one too . . LOL Out.

I don't see Tom Herman going to a D-2 school, as you suggest. And do not believe everything you see on messageboards. If someone at the major-college level throws a lot of money at him to be an OC, then that could happen. And ISU fans have no one to blame but themselves -- hard to keep up with the Joneses when the season-attendance base is on the mid-30,000s

the rest of bandwagoners won't show until we win consistently.
love how people think our base is 50k.
Or even '04 and '05.
This year's average attendance was in the upper half of the past decade.
