i'll correct someone from earlier. The market shares will now be 48% Anheuser Busch to ~30% MillerCoors.

As for my personal beer preferences, it really depends on the situation. If i am drinking with dinner or we are on a couples get together, i usually go with a Microbrew or maybe a Stout. If I am going for the pure purpose of hammering down beers with the guy during CFB or whatever, then i go with Bud Select!

Oh and don't suprised if AB teams up with Foreign producer InBev in the near future as a response to the MillerCoors Joint Venture.

Guilty as charged, but I am an all-encompassing beverage snob.

I have been known to roast my own coffee beans, and only brew loose-leaf tea, both iced and hot. Beverages are my simple pleasure.

Go ahead and revoke my man-card!

Do you pee sitting down? Just kidding. Roasting your own coffee beans and brewing your own tea does not make you less of a man. Fresh stuff always tastes better. Like i said about Coors. I love the fresh stuff, tastes cleaner.

If the microbrews weren't so much more than the domestics I'd probably drink Boulevard more often. Budweiser came out with a great blonde ale beer you might have seen in the stores this summer called Beach Bum. We toured the brewery last year and had some fresh as we never heard of it and it was great. Tried to find it in the stores on the way home and was told it was only tap beer at that time then I guess they decided this year to bottle it.

Anymore I usually buy Michelob Golden Light over Bud Light when they are the same price or 1 is cheaper. Miller is crap and whoever said its a ladies beer I agree with because the only people I know that drink it are ladies. I like Coors from time to time too. And if you really want something to knock you on your a$$ quick try Steel Reserve, it has 6.0% alcohol which is the most you can get in Iowa. If you buy in in St. Louis or somewhere with more lax regulations on alcohol content I think it's over 8% there. It's not the greatest tasting beer but it's cheaper and you don't have to drink as much of it.

The sad thing is, I know a guy who pees sitting down and he eats french fries with a fork. Yes, we give him ungodly amounts of crap.

I agree with the article, I think craft beers and micro brews are finding their way into our everyday choices more often. When I am out in Colorado visiting friends and family, we usually go out and sample quite a few pub house brews. Avery Brewing in Boulder has become one of my favorites. I am also very pleased to see Fat Tire in Iowa now. If I do have a "light" beer, it is usually Coors Light. Just remember, life is TOO short to drink bad beer.......

I really enjoy the Upstream Brewery bears in Omaha. Raspberry honey ale is to die for. Heck even their root beer is awesome. Comes in a dark glass jug that you can bring in after you are done and get discount on a new one.

I buy whatever is to the far left of the beer aisle(thats where they keep the cheap stuff) I'll wait till I get to heaven to drink good beer because it will be free and plentiful(I don't care what Hawkeye fans believe).

I am a complete beer snob, but I owe it all to the years I was stationed in Germany. After all of the beer I tried over there (and it was a LOT) I simply couldn't drink X Light/Lite any more. I am willing to spend more for a beer that makes me happy, but I have also lowered my tolerance level so it all works out in the end! Among my favorites are Negro Modelo, Warsteiner, Pauliner HefeWeissen, anything Leinenkugels (except Honey and Berry), Sam Adams, and Boulevard.

Surely you are not referring to Milwaukee's Best, right? RIGHT? Them's fightin words.:realmad:

The only people that are allowed to drink the Beast are old farmers whose taste buds have long been killed off by pesticides and ... drinking Milwaukee's Best.

Are you over 65? Do you farm? Are you unshaven and wearing overalls?

Unless all 3 answers are yes, then put down the crap and come towards the light.

NOTE!!!: If you're ARE over 65 DO NOT come towards the light!

Ugh...any one remember the Insight Bowl and the bar outside B.O.B? Anyway I cannot drink Leinie's anymore b/c of the night before's bender that carried over to the Leine's bar on game day. Or it could of been those raw bratwurst they were selling that day, gives me cold chills just thinking about it.

I'm cheap and like to reminise (sp?) give me NATTY or any bud product

Smithwick's (pronounced smith-icks) is pretty similar to Guinness minus the bite, I think. It's very dark and smooth but not quite as bitter as Guinness. I actually prefer it to Guinness. Maybe others have thoughts?

Do places like Hy-vee carry that or is that brought in by bars and such?

Since men buy beer, advertisers have to cater to what we want, and hold on to your corn cob pipe, we like pretty women. That's why pretty women sell good things and ugly women sell... tennis raquets. Pretty woman cars, ugly woman mini vans. Pretty woman make us buy beer, UGLY WOMAN MAKE US DRINK BEER!!!

Has anybody tried brewing their own? I was thinking of trying that Sam Adams contest but I need a great original flavor. I am having a hard time coming up with one that I think would actually work.

Citrus elements seem to make beer taste different. Sweet fruits not so much.
