Sure he has. There haven't been a lot but there have been some. The throw against Nebraska is one. There was the 3rd and 15 pass to Darks against Mizzou on the first drive of the game which was very important as it gave us a field position advantage. There was the throw to Lenz that was dropped. There was at least one more third down pass that was dropped. I definately understand not being overly enthusiastic about Tiller. I'm not sold on him, but to say there has been nothing he has done that shows "flashes" is not accurate.

The throw at Neb was not special at all. It appeared to be a heave that Jake made a good play on. Show me a throw that drops over the LB in front of the safety. Show me where he looks off the safety, and throws a deep in route before the safety can get back to position. Show me an out pattern that arrives as the WR turns around. Show me a nicely timed bubble screen. Heck, just show me plays where he sets his feet and hits an open man. You see what I am getting at here? He is not making any of these plays, and servicable QBs can make more than half. He has not shown the type of developement needed to make the plays and lead this team. From what I have seen, there is very little chance JT is the opening game starter in 2011.

And, I cannot be the only person here who is hugely embarrassed by your rude comment.

In any way I can, I'll proudly stand tall with Mr. Capello and The City. They bring information and perspective to this board that no one else here does.

Many of us talk Cyclone family. Mr. Capello and The City are Cyclone family; son and brother are Cyclone family. We're all Cyclone family . . . other than those here who choose to stand apart, outside the Cyclone circle.

There are times a person would be best served by keeping his mouth shut. It's called the better part of discretion. It's called love of family, respect for family.

This is just my opinion, but it seems more and more that when family members post on message boards, it's more or less about how awesome their particular family member is, or if they're excited about something, or things like that. IMO that doens't really give much insight into inner workings of the team, or things of that nature, and it also creates a lot of hype around those players whether they intend to do so or not.

If those guys don't live up to the lofty and possibly unreasonable expectations, it can really turn some of the posters against those players, which leads to excessive ripping of our guys, and fights between the disappointed posters and the family members. Just no reason to create that situation.

I don't have much of a problem with them posting if they so choose, but it just seems to me that there's more potential for something bad to come out of it than there is of any good to come from it. If I was a D1 athlete, I wouldn't want my family openly posting on message boards about it.

Oh, I get it now. We cannot give JT any credit for a few really good throws he made that were dropped and we can't give him credit when someone catches one. That's the receivers job. Was the catch by Jake a great catch? Sure, but Jake himself didn't throw it out there for him to go get. It was his job to catch that ball. That's ball that should have been caught. For some reason we have started to give receivers credit when they make a mildly hard catch they still should make such as that one.

As for you examples, the throw to Darks on the first drive of the game has to meet some standard. The one to Lenz that was dropped has to meet some sort of standard. Besides all of that a QB here won't have to do all of those things. Seneca couldn't do all of those things but he won games. IMO, our defense should be strong enough that the QB of ISU will simply have to take what's given to him.

It seems like some here think they know how everyone will develop. They also seem to know what Jantz will be. Was Jantz brought in here to sit on the bench? No, I have said as much, but that doesn't mean he has been anointed the starter. No one knows what things will happen over the next 7 months. Hell for all we know, JT could be a WR and Jantz could be third string and red-shirting.

One thing is for sure though, if Tiller starts it will be this season all over again, just replace the names Arnaud with Tiller and Tiller with Jantz and then eventually, Capello with, well, probably Barnett or Capello. It has been like that for 4 years and I don't see it changing.

What we do know is the staff is not satisfied with JT`s play. That is clear, so any comments made by ISU fans about JT`s inability to be the guy next year has been reinforced. Based on what we have seen from JT, if he is the guy next year then we are in trouble. Hence, the staff brings in a Juco QB and his top receiving threat. This isn`t rocket science.

Neither is reading. Try it. I never said anything contrary to what you just said except that i's ridiculous to say Tiller is a non factor in the race. I don't understand how Tiller is supposedly out of it and Jantz will be the guy when we have seen nothing out of Jantz.

When is the spring game? April. Awesome we have 2 and a half months more of this chicken or the egg bickering.

If Jantz starts, then fine. If Tiller starts, it means he beat out Jantz, Capello, Barnett and the rest. Which means, if the hype some of you give Jantz is true, that JT made some big strides when he believed he would be the starter. And the JuCo WR may just be the best WR we could get at this point in recruiting. If he runs good routes and catches the ball, I really don't think it will matter who threw it.

And, I for one, like reading the thoughts of family members, maybe not so much of what their son/brother is doing, but what the position group is doing. Gives me a little insight.

I suspect our defense will be good, our OL will be solid, and I hope the WR's figure out how to get open and to value each opportunity when the ball is heading their way. Kind of like a BB team has to value each posession. What I want from a QB is to know when to throw it to an open reciever and when to throw it away, instead of forcing and getting the INT. We have good running backs, so that should also ease some of the pressure off of whoever starts.

How many teams do you know who just have a "next man in" mentality at QB and don't drop off? There's a reason there's a starter and backup.

And you don't switch QBs just for fun. Remember the Meyer/Flynn mess and then the Arnaud/Bates messes?
I also watched AA go down three times as he was pounded. You need a backup to play well when starters are knocked out, like the Nebby game.

The best thing for the program would be if Tiller truely puts in the work this offseason to improve and earns the starting spot. He has the advantage of being in the system the longest so if he truely were to be the best QB after camp then it would mean someone with familiarity of the system and the players in it would be under center and not a newcomer who is still learning.

I never though Tiller was as good or better than Arnaud in the past but that is not to say he still doesn't have room to develop either. I just want the best guy for the job under center come September regardless who it is.
