I think people assumed we had at least two extra schollies from somewhere opening because we would've taken Grady and we would've taken one of those DTs that chose other schools on signing day.

These might be those two ones because we ended up being one under our limit and then signed Pompey. I couldn't find any good threads on the topic since signing day.

Where'd Black and Range go? Sorry if this has been covered.

I was wondering also. I see one poster said Range may have hung up cleats because of injuries. Any confirmation?

And what happened to Black? I feel like I remember reading something about him leaving or being kicked off but I cant remember that far back. I am getting old.

Jarrod Black and Lonzie Range are the only 2 scholarship players to be taken off. Several walk ons were added and several removed.

Football - Roster - Iowa State University Athletics Official Web Site - www.CYCLONES.com - The home of Iowa State Cyclone Sports

Only 3 freshman played last year, Kirby Van Der Kamp, Shontrelle Johnson and Jeremiah George. The other 14 freshmen redshirted. Three juco's redshirted, Jon Caspers (2 year left), Albert Gary (3 years left) and Chris Young (2 years left).

If the remaing 19 recruits make it to campus, highly unlikely, I have us at 87 scholarships, with Nick Kron.
Actually, beyond Black and Range, I can see a couple of other players who may "choose" to graduate, ala Austin Alburtis last summer, before Fall rolls around. Plus all of the other types of attrition that normally happen.

I think we will be OK on the OL this year, and like that guy said it looks like we have some nice young players too who redshirted last year. It will be even better of Scott Haughton does make it back this year!

It has been argued many times whether Dakoata Zimmerman is on scholarship or not. I agree with you,If all the recuits make it it would be 88 scholarships.

Even though he lists Williams, Black and Range, who are not on the current roster?

Sorry, I didn't count all that he had listed.

Sorry, did not read through his list. I count 87 or 88 if all the recruits make it without Williams, Black or Range.

Yep, ditto on Dakota Z. I don't know his scholarship situation.

I see that much of my punctuation did not translate from the Jarte word processing software I use when uploaded here. For example, several names on the roster have a line through them ("strikeout"), including L. Range, B. Williams, and J. Black.

I guess such punctuation is not permitted here, anyone know? Thought I would upload the document to my flickr page, but that appears to allow image formats only. . . . Hey, google documents, I'll see if that works.
