I ran some calculations being bored at work and here are some rough numbers I came up with. They may be off, but kind of rough estimate.
Taller than 10 bball hoops piled on top of eachother
-I went 13' from AFF to top of Backboard so=130' tall
Size screen is 5x larger than the one we have now
-The one we have now is 26.5'x20.5'=543sf
-543sf x 5=2716 roughly
-HD screen dimensions 16x9 ratio gives width of 70', height of 40'
I just rough guessed width of pressbox from 30 yd line to 30 yd line=120'
-1/3rd times larger than that will put the structure at roughly 160' wide total
Scaled Jacobson Building off of FPM website to be roughly 100' wide at end closest to field
-If structure is 8 ft. wide that puts 160/2=80', 80'-50'(half of jake), 30'-8' (support)=22'b/w structure and jake for sidewalk. However, I believe the width of the sidewalk in place now will be the same width of when the scoreboard is finished. I hope at least.
Estimated height of the jake at roughly 3 floors x 15' + 10 feet at ends where windows are tallest so total height of 55-60'.
-If scoreboard is 130' tall minus the 40' tall screen minus 10' ad space above/below screen would put roughly 10' b/w top of the jake and bottom of the scoreboard structure.
Total structure is 160' wide roughly with screen width of 70' and 8' supports running up on both sides.
-Leaves about 35' x 60' ad space on both ends if they decide to do all ads on the sides instead of stats nad put stats on video board.
I do believe it will be steel supports on both sides due to the time frame and cost involved. There would be an immense amount of hours involved in tieing rebar, placing formwork, setting up scaffold, and pour concrete for it to be efficient. A steel crew can come in with crane and a few JLG lifts and bang the supports out in a short time.
