The article still contains the same amounts of massive FAIL that it did earlier this morning...

Very disappointing quiet day today. No news. Bummer.
Why doesn't the SEC just absorb the Big 12? BE has 20 bball teams.Just popped up on the Houston boards and also saw it on the LSU boards, so take it for what its worth.
SEC is considering inviting TAMU, Oklahoma, Mizzou and Houston. Apparently the play here is that long-term the SEC can at least split Texas or better even without UT, by having TAMU, OK and Houston (the third biggest public school in the state)!!
This gets OK on board (they need Texas recruiting) and heads off the SEC biggest fear of a PAC16 with both Cali and Texas locked down.

I will file this under the likelihood of Rice fans thinking them, ND, and BYU are the Big12 expansion targets.
The fate of OSU, non-factor status of UH, and other things SCREAM bs here.
Hilarious. Which one of these programs does not belong?
LSU
Alabama
Florida
Auburn
HOUSTON
Arkansas
Georgia
South Carolina
Oklahoma
Mizzou
I thought the end was interesting too...Walking around the St. Louis Zoo, the grocery store, dropping my nephew off at school, watching people in the airport, I observed only a handful of "Mizzou" shirts. The sports media there barely covers conference realignment rumors. There is zero “buzz” about the SEC. The greatest attribute the SEC possesses is the passion of its fans. Go anywhere in the nine state region and you'll see Bama, LSU, Georgia, Florida, Auburn t-shirts, hats, sweaters, license plate covers and bumper stickers. Talk radio year round from Lexington to Gainesville is filled with conversation about college sports. None of that exists in Missouri with the Tigers.
Nowhere in the SEC do SEC sports come second. In Missouri, I'm not even sure the Tigers and college sports rank third.
So what is he saying? The SEC will feel fine standing pat at 13 teams for the next 10 years? That the SEC will invite Mizzou even though he thinks they don't fit?A quick note about ACC teams. I don't believe the SEC wants to wear the "corporate raider" tag and wrestle a team OUT of another conference.
Cm'n guys, we are slowing down. We only need 1400 more posts for the record. How about Army, Navy, and AF joining so it might entice ND?

Big XII responded to A&M's letter
Texas A&M officials received a letter today from Big 12 commissioner Dan Beebe, outlining withdrawal procedures according to the financial provisions of Big 12 bylaws and mutual waivers of legal claims.
The letter, received in response to A&M’s Thursday request for withdrawal procedures, should help expedite A&M’s apparent move to the Southeastern Conference.
In a statement released today, A&M president R. Bowen Loftin stressed that it is “not our intent to prolong our conference exploration for an extended period of time.†Sources at both A&M and the Big 12 have suggested that, because of the mutual waiver of legal claims in regard to a possible A&M move to the SEC, an announcement in regard to the school’s application for SEC membership could occur by the end of the week.
In Monday’s statement, Loftin said: “I certainly appreciate the discussion among the Big 12 presidents/chancellors (during Saturday’s teleconference) and the expression for their desire for Texas A&M to remain in the conference. We all agree that Texas A&M is an extremely valuable institution; thus, it is incumbent upon me, as the president of the university, to ensure that we are in a position to enhance our national visibility and future financial opportunity. While this is a complex and long-term decision, it is not our intent to prolong our conference exploration for an extended period of time.â€
