While I'm sure Jamie is involved, it would actually be the school president that is in charge of most of this stuff... So you should be telling President Geofry to get going!

Grate Idea...Hey Prz Geoffrey ....Get Off Your Duff and start making some phone calls...

Well boys its official today atm 2 the sec...

Well now that the aggies gave us the middle finger, if the big 12 canNOT convince at least BYU to join then its time.......

I would say High Time that Jamie Pollard get off his duff and start calling every conference commissioner and asking for admittance....

If Jamie P plays the waiting game ISU will be relegated to the wac or the mac and good bye athletic department...

Unless of course you want to use the Drake model in football and draw 1500 fans per game...

Get Crackin' Jamie because the dominoes are starting to fall....

I'm almost certain the Big 12 survives this. This has a completely different feel from last year - unlike last year, the remaining members have shown commitment and unity. Something is going on behind the scenes, and I honestly think that something is BYU (and I don't buy that it's dependent upon ND).

Its time for a wake up call and time for Jamie Pollard to get a calling and see where we can land if Texas and Oklahoma bolt for the Pac 12, who incidentally still want both of those schools....

As if JP is sitting naked in a bean bag chair eating Cheetos? How are you guys so sure that Jame isn't doing everything he can to ensure a light fluffy landing somewhere?

Does anyone know what the penalty fee was for those whiners leaving?

It's basically one year of revenue (so ~$15 million).

Last year when everything went done, everyone was wondering why the hell Beebe didn't modify the by-laws or get signed pledges to move forward with 10 teams. And now you see the product of that...there are no penalties for leaving so you will continue to see teams flirt with other conferences because of that.

If this conference was really as stable as the remaining 9 members claim it is, then why not have a $50 million penalty buyout?

Selective memory. We got the same kumbaya **** from the remaining members last year. We're all committed to stay! More money for everybody! Group hug! EXACTLY THE SAME.

I agree 100% Mr Palmer anyone that thinks that we gain admittance to the big 10 has got MUSH for BRAINS.....

We bring nothing to the table in the way of additional TV sets and thats what this is all about people...

ISU lands in the big 10 if the Big 12 blows up and 4 - 18 team super-conferences develop.....Pac-10, SEC, Big 10, ACC/Big East are the surviors. ISU goes to the big 10 in that scenario, but that is about it.

I am going to go out on a limb and guess that our very competent AD and President are both workingtheir tails off to keep the Big XII together and also to find us a home if the **** hits the fan.

I see the BigXII hooking up with ND, but not by ND jumping to the BigXII but by a merger between the BigXII and the Big East. THAT'S the shocker the Texas Tech AD was referring to. It will take time to make its self clear, but it will happen.

The main ingredient at this point is the fact that Texas has their LHN already ready to go. It's the only saving grace for the Big 12 at this point. If this were to happen next year when the LHN is a major flop, Texas would be gone to the Pac with OU, OSU, and tbd. Since no other league will give Texas the power they have now, Texas is only interested in keeping the Big 12 going. That may not be possible even with Texas on board if the SEC and B1G decide to go SUPER first.

ISU needs Texas in the Big 12. If Texas is here, OU is likely to stay put. If OU suddenly departs to the SEC with aTm, then it's over, but I think that is highly unlikely. Worst case scenario would be to the Big East for a couple of years before it joins forces with the ACC to form their eastern super conference. At that point, ISU would be in trouble of staying in the super conference discussion. Texas holds the key for us...which sucks.

Conference switches do not happen overnight. (As we have just witnessed.) There would be significant smoke before the fire. I haven't heard enough from any camp to indicate there will be an announcement in the short term on this, except perhaps with BYU, and even then there isn't much stuff out there solidly sourced to go on.

I am worried we are going to have to endure the discussion of a
zombie Big 12 all football season.

Winner of which goes to the Humana Health Brains Bowl in Louisville, KY on New Years Eve.

No, actually, you're the one with the selective memory here. After those heading to the Pac 10 (minus A&M) decided it was in everyone's best interest to make the Big 12 work, there was full commitment going forward. Except for A&M - they began prostituting itself to the SEC and was dragged kicking and screaming back onto the Big 12. After the Big 12 Missile Crisis ended, the only school not committed to making it work was A&M. A year later, guess which is the only school making moves to leave?

And if you're referring to "unity" within the conference last year as things were heating up, what are you smoking? Missouri and Nebraska were fighting over one open spot on the B1G, Texas, A&M, TT, OU, and OSU were on their way to the Pac 10 while Baylor and Colorado were fighting over the remaining available spot, and Kansas, K-State, and.ISU were left wondering what was going to happen to them. that is COMPLETELY different from this year where only A&M has actively sought to leave conference while the remaining 9 members have been VOCALLY UNITED.

BYU and ND go into the mix of ACC(12 Teams), Big East(9 Teams) and Big 12(9 Teams) to create 32 teams, which will be split into 2 to make the first 2 super conferences...

Stoops doesnt want a championship game because he doesnt want to risk losing that. How do you think he feels about playing an SEC schedule?
Stoops is stupid. He will be forced into a championship game by Fox and ESPN no matter what conference he lands in.
