Nah - according to Senolcyc he's just posturing while talking to the SEC during his downtime...

One short year ago, Missouri would have left the Big 12 in half a millisecond if asked. And now it is committed to the Big 12 like Donny to Marie? Again, you CAN'T be that naive.

If this goes to 4 super conferences of 16 - 20 teams each. There are going to be some historically good teams that get humbled every year.

Also if that does happen who is to say they will not decide it is better to play more conference games (= more money from TV contracts) and up conference games to 10 per team, then you would only have 2 OCC games a year.

Last year was about Mizzou being in the Big 10, not leaving the Big 12 at all costs (as evidenced by them not jumping to the Big East or something like that).

The SEC is not the great deal the Big 10 is. The Big 10 is arguably a step down in competition for more money. The SEC is clearly a step up in competition with no financial gain.

I don't think Missouri is going to the SEC. Never said I did. But not because its chancellor said so. He's going to say whatever he has to say, regardless of what is true. Here ends the lesson.

That shapes up to be a very tough schedule for aTm. Playing the SEC schedule, plus a guaranteed game against Texas every year. Not sure why they think they'll still be competitors - unless they start cheating again with a vengence.

A&M does have a pretty solid history when it comes to the cheating department.

One short year ago Mizzou's AD was nearly sent to the stone ages because its.power play to get into the Big 12 failed. You think perhaps everyone, except for some idiot writer on St Louis, has learned their lesson about the grass being greener on the other side of the fence?
Not to mention EVERYBODY (except that idiot writer has said they want nothing to do with the SEC. That would mean that Texas, Oklahoma, Missouri all have no interest in the SEC, TT, Baylor, and OSU have no prayer of going there unless they rode a coattail of a school not interested in going, and ISU, KU, and K-State have no prayer of going whatsoever.

It sounds to me more like a lot of **** being thrown at the wall that just ain't sticking (and yet people keep idiotically believing so)....

I'd guess the SEC will extend "fishbowl rules" to A&M.

Voice No. 2 will be identified as a prominent Texas high school football coach.

I asked him about the impact of recruiting in our state since the Aggies' move will throw the door wide open to the SEC monsters.

"It depends," he answered, "if the Aggies are allowed to come into the SEC under the fishbowl rules."

The fishbowl rules? What's that?

"When money is being offered," calmly explained the coach, "you can't go into another conference state and offer more money than what the school or schools in that state are offering. You can match the offer, just not go more."

There would be a significant financial gain in the SEC for Mizzou IMO. Their TV deals will dwarf what the Big 12 will ever land.

Why do think SEC schools do not want more schools from their state? Bidding wars would commence for in-state talent then

A&M is a very logical choice for them in that case. They pose no threat to the SEC schools as far as competition in athletics goes, they swing open the door to recruit more in Texas, and no kid in SEC country that is worth anything at all will choose A&M over an SEC school. I guess I should give the SEC more credit in all of this as they are playing A&M like a banjo.
