I'm going to keep thinking good things are comin' for the Clones...at least until the beer (or our conference options) runs out. Who knows what will happen?

I don't understand wth happened. When I went to work six hours ago, it was between two options: 1. BYU or 2. Louisville, Pitt, WVU.

We find it's always better to release conference ending news on a Friday. Studies have statistically shown that there's less chance of an incident if you do it at the end of the week.

I for once agree with you Hawkfan. Pollard's one downfall has been he is so money hungry, I mean we have kissed KSU's *** for 4 years on fear of not filling the stadium. Pollard needs to swallow that pride and realize there are other ways to make up the revenue gaps (beer sales, more ticket sales as we will likely win more consistently and so on).

The more I think about Chip's latest article, the more I absolutely loathe Texas. I honestly believe I actually loathe them more than the Cubs and all of the New York teams.

I'm not a big fan of Chip's. He personifies what is wrong with UT and this whole process. A lot of stirring the pot. I wouldn't buy a subscription to his site anymore than I'd watch the LHN.

IMHO, the better things seemed, the more likely things weren't really that good. Now that they're almost falling apart, I expect the backroom deals to heat up like the last time to try to put this pig back together again. A lot tougher this time, but not impossible.

Who says a Big East with KU KSU ISU and Baylor does not bring solidarity to fend off the ACC? If ISU goes to the Big East there is no doubt they will be part of that superconference.

Yeah, I'm with you. And the way I see it, we don't lose out on any money if we never see any of the new money in the first place since our conference and big TV deal will have exploded.

One thing people are quick to forget about this whole situation is this most likely means superconferences are 3 weeks away...Oklahoma leaving the Big 12 kills the conference and superconferences are going to be formed in a matter of weeks. There will be too many teams floating out there that need homes for this not to happen at the same time Oklahoma makes their decision. We may not have a Big East deal to fall back on...and even if we did jump to the Big East now it probably wouldn't be near its current form + leftover Big 12 teams.

That's the thing. It is really hard to know what is real and what is being intentionally put out there for power reasons or leverage. OU is probably trying to get a network out of this. ESPN set a bad precedent ponying up 300M to Texas to keep the B12 together, and now OU wants theirs I am sure.

But who knows. It is a huge mess, no one is in control. Crazy.

I have a plan.

Texas has a vault under the clocktower in Austin. I say we round up 10-11 guys. During the Rice game tomorrow we cut the power. This cuts the security measures in the vault. Meanwhile we insert our own CCTV footage of the vault floor into Beebe's office. Using this footage we make Beebe and Deloss think they're being robbed. All the while we are actually robbing them. We threaten to blow up half of the money if they don't let us walk with the other half. Its with this that they call the Austin police and Mack Brown. But we intercept the call and initiate our own SWAT team to enact a faux takedown in the vault. While Beebe is busy chasing a van containing what he blelieves is half of his money (actually it is LHN promotional flyers) we exit out the clocktower carring the full contents of the vault in SWAT gear.

I could agree with you. The SEC, Big 10 and PAC will want to grab while they can grab with the understanding that this is all going that way. They won't want to have the other conference get everybody good without a fight. Somebody will have to pull the trigger first and they will all start shooting pretty quick.

Beer sales don't net a whole lot of profit.

And we're in trouble if the Big 12 falls apart. By my estimation we have about $80,000,000 in debt service currently just from the Pollard tenure. Well, our future cash flows are quite possibly about to take a MAJOR hit.

That might just work...except at this point in time Beebe couldn't find his head with both hands, a flashlight, and several bloodhounds...
