I agree that Geoffrey and Pollard are great people to have working for us while all this is going down. But there us only so much they can do. All we can do is hope that the Big XII somehow stays together. No matter where we land it would be a step down.

I can understand the OU Pres saying the things he did to give them more control over the eventual outcome.

I do not have the slightest idea what Geoffrey or Pollard could do to give ISU any leverage at all. Face it, until it all shakes out, we are all spectators in this process.

last I checked a&m hasn't been accepted anywhere yet. yea its thought to be coming, however it hasn't happened YET.

So are we able to discuss things that have already happened?

Do you think that A&M is staying?

You know its been awful quiet on the Notre Dame front. I'm wondering of there is some behind the scenes activities going on. If ND and BYU join the b12, then add in a few not so great teams and the B12 is as good as if not better than before Nebby and TAMU left.

Why would ND be worried? If there are just a few big conferences and all the TV revenue goes to them can they survive as an independent? What if BE says, we are expanded and will only consider full time members. ND, you are either in or you are out and not part of the BE anymore. I always thought the "we are one conference for certain things and a different conference for other things" was a really poor and unstable way to run things. If all this realignment goes on, I wonder if the BE will try to stabilize on 16 full time members. Just a thought.

ND is the elephant in the room that nobody talks about. Maybe that is one of the things OU is exploring.
USF was pounding them 16-0 the last time I looked.

only way this works out well is if the threat of the first 16 team conference puts pressure on ND and BYU and somehow the first 16 team conference ends up being the big 12 including AR, BYU and ND...seems so impossible that it would be good if Missouri and Kansas are left out AND the SEC or Big 10 don't jump on em...

I throw in the hat. Too many hotshots want to check out the pasture on the other side of the mountain. The money will be enormous and the teams left out will be also rans. MO would go to SEC before Pac 16 so TT is the one. So I expect MO to be the 14th SEC team, so that leaves four leftovers. Big Ten will not have as much to pick from someone of the four may get a Big Ten offer. Baylor to MWC. The other three are east bound.

I had hoped that with the season starting this **** would stop, at least for a day. I guess not. I'm becoming very disenfranchised with NCAA FB. If this continues i may actually have to try watching an NFL game again.

My goodness. I guess our best hope is that the Big East still has a spot for us. I didn't think that the Presidents of these universities would end up being this purely self-interested. These places are supposed to be some of our prime examples of ideals and virtues. It's just sickening.

If this happens, I think we will look back on all this and see it is the end of an era and the beginning of new one TOTALLY about greed. College football is basically dead as an amateur sport. Just call it what it is - the NFL minor leagues.

This whole thing just sceams of the need for a Kenesaw Mountain Landis to wade in and just corral all these mavericks and bring some order to the chaos. It's clearly out of control and the NCAA clearly has been rendered impotent.

I'm officially depressed.

I think OU wanted to get this done quickly before the NCAA cracks down on them. There's a good chance OU's basketball program could get the death penalty because of their recent multiple major violations within five years. Kind of like NU getting in the B1G before the AAU dumped them.
