So, to make sure I'm straight on this, so long as a majority of the Big 12 stays together and viable we can sue the every-living **** out of TAMU and any others that leave? I like it.

I'm hoping we can sue any conference that takes a team as well.

I know this was posted this morning, but just had a chance to look at it...

BCS football: Realignment update (Pac-12 CEOs don’t want to expand) | College Hotline

From Gainesville to Knoxville to Baton Rouge, and all points along the way, the feeling among SEC athletic directors can be summed up like this:
“We’ve won five consecutive national titles and the Pac-12 has a richer TV deal than we do. What’s the hell’s going on?†Hence the sooner-than-expected developments with A&M.

*** The Big Ten won’t expand until it’s time to renegotiate the league’s deals with CBS and ESPN, which expire in 2016, according to a source.
At that point, if the Pac-12 and the SEC have grown to 16 teams, then Notre Dame will join the Big Ten.

Stay classy SEC, stay classy. What other organizations out there are able to rip up their existing contracts because the market has changed in a way not in their favor? Now we have university presidents choosing to take action because the contract they chose to sign in 2008 looks bad for them?

And very nice Big 10. Let's all do this again in 2015 because its time for you contract to come up. Let's hold every other conference hostage for the next few years because you'll take 4 more schools then too setting off round 3 of this mess. Stay classy.

I am almost thinking the only way we survive this is by:
- getting 100 million in exit fees split a few ways

- Our version of Boone Pickets steps up with a 300 million donation paying off our Recent upgrades and finishing the stadium and other olympic sports venues.

-To sue anyone and everyone for looking at us wrong some how.

-ISU researches come up with a cure for Cancer and AIDS.

Then we might sneak in to the Big10. Maybe........

Yesterday i read a tweet saying if more than 1 team leaves no one will pay exit fees. Granted this is just a tweet, but that wouldn't be good.

B12 leaders being quiet could mean there's something brewing, or it could be that they think they'll just look worse for saying something. What can Beebe say publicly that isnt Baghdad Bob-ish right now? I'm sure he's doing as much as he can behind the scenes but even then, his power is very limited. He had one card that would actually work, bringing more revenue to the table, and he used it last summer.

Big 12 is quiet, Hmmm, maybe...

"Hi. We are from Baylor. Tam, if you leave, your *** is grass. OU, sit down and be respectful. Quit flying that darn plane. UT, you have the LHN that no one watched. Just chill. For if you yokels do not do the right thing, we will be all over you like lice on flypaper and seeing you in the courts making every little thing that hypothetically you yahoos have said in the last year. You are under careful watch for bad faith negotiations for the past year, Sirs. Walk lightly without a big stick or regret."

I suspect there's some wound healing going on within the conference and the BigXII stays together.

We'll see...I find the comments from CU and the AZ schools interesting in not wanting to end up in an East division and not wanting to admit OSU/Tech due to academics.

Your instinct may end up being correct.

Kansas's Chancellor made this statement today. IMO Doesn't sound like the Big12 is going to survive.

""It's obviously disappointing that it has come to this point. Keeping the Big 12 strong and competitive remains our top preference, but no matter what happens we're going to continue to work in the best interests of the University of Kansas. That's our number one priority and it's what we've been focused on throughout the process as we've looked at all our options when it comes to conference realignment."
That just tells their faithful that their backup plan is the BE.

Not great, but also doesn't say anything new. It's a boilerplate 'say something for the fanbase and media' statement.

Many laughed at me a few years ago when I started the thread suggesting that McDermott would end up coaching at Creighton (a day or two before it became a reality), and I'm sure many will laugh at this prediction.

We're going to find out very soon that ISU ended up in a very good situation. Either the Big 12 will continue stronger than ever with three excellent new additions to the conference, or ISU is going to end up in the Big 10.

I'm fine with either one.

Via Mr. SEC...

Alabama | MrSEC.com

Two conflicting, expansion-related stories are being reported on Big 12-related websites this afternoon. Both are behind paywalls, so we’ll simply provide you with summary information. (Sort of silly considering the info will be copy and pasted into a million messageboard posts this afternoon, but hey, we’ll play by the rules).

First, AggieYell.com — the Rivals site for Texas A&M — is reporting that all of the SEC’s presidents and chancellors are at Hartsfield International Airport this afternoon. AggieYell believes this could be the final vote to invite A&M and to discuss other potential targets for expansion.

However, PowerMizzou.com — the Rivals site for Missouri — is claiming that according to their sources in College Station, “the SEC might be slowing things down.†According to PowerMizzou, the SEC felt fine bringing in A&M and then taking its time to find School #14. They do not — supposedly — feel comfortable inviting A&M in the face of total armageddon. Instead, the site claims, the SEC would rather have a full 14-16 school lineup in place.

Andy Staples of SI.com reports that the SEC should know by tonight whether or not A&M has the nine votes necessary to land an SEC invite. If so, a deal could be announced tomorrow and then the dominoes could start falling in other leagues.
