What ever happened to Chip Brown's comment about a month ago that if it looked like the Big 12 might fold, that Texas and Notre Dame might decide to create a conference? When did that option fall off the table?

Next he's going to be blaming the Big 6/7/8 (don't know how big back then) for not picking up Oregon, Oregon St, and Wash St while they were out of the PAC in 1959-62 or for not picking up Georgia Tech in 1964 after they left the SEC.
Interesting read; Texas still doesn't have a clue. This entire situation was a result of the LHN. The PAC12 will not take them with the LHN. And contrary to what that article states, the ACC won't take them with it either. It should be obvious to all that a conference that gives preferential treatment both recruiting and money wise to a single school is a disaster waiting to happen. Actually I believe its likely that for the B12 to survive that UT will have to give up the LHN anyway. Morph it into a B12 network and share the revenue that will lead to stability. The real question is when or if UT actually realizes this. If they insist on keeping the LHN their best and perhaps only option would be to go independent.

Why is this plane arriving in Ames from Oakland? Two possibilities...Pac12 is talking to us, or Wells Fargo visiting the Ames branch (but why would they spend that kind of money to visit one branch in Ames??)

People that want to blame the LHN are ********. I know that "********" is not PC but it is accurate. We're talking about 3rd tier rights. ISU has had a larger 3rd tier package than Texas has had. There was a great article about it the other day...yes it was from the Texas perspective but still made a number of good points. What if Learfield decided to do the same thing LHN was doing? We'd be ecstatic. Florida has already done this with Sun Sports or whatever the name is.

I suppose it is too far fetched to dream that J. Pollard asked L. Scott to hitch a ride on the Wells Fargo plane to keep this thing quiet. It's like a coaching search you know.
